Default Any problems with 2007 Injen CAI????

Im wanting to order one soon and just wondering if anyone has had any problems out of it, and is it a pretty straightforward installation????

Im dropped on S-techs and it seems like i read a while back where a guy had this setup and the intake was rubbing against something...

I dont really know much about engines, but my friend is telling me that im gonna fry my rings very quickly if im just running a cat-back with no intake... this kinda sounds like B.S...... is it????

fring your rings?!? i never heard of this i have an 07 injen cai. i love it the installion was pretty easy. just the second pipe is the problem cuz you gotta twist it and what not. you might wanna read up on the one you wanna get. but don't worry about fring your rings it just helps the enegine breath better.

Ya your friend doesnt know what hes talking about. Dont take his advice anymore. And he is looking at the same CAI you have SmEYEley. Another thing you might wanna look at is Doc I's intake bracket. It mounts inside your engine bay and keeps the metal of the fender well from wearing into your piping. Thats not really a big issue at all though so you will be just fine without it. Your choice.

Overall though its a good intake for the car.

Btw I see you have JDM in your name. Just to give you a heads up so in the future you dont post something stupid and get flamed...

Scion tC Tuner Rule 1: There are no "JDM" parts for your car

hey thanx for the advice guys

Yeah the "JDM" in my nme is referring to my last project (chevy cavalier) (and yes, they do have JDM parts for cavaliers; they were sold in Japan as Toyotas and had many subtle differences)
although my TC will have a Japanese theme to it(-;

If lowering your car makes your intake rub, you probably took the springs out completely, pulled out your plastic fender guards, and swapped wheels and tires with a Tundra

The only way you can fry your rings is if you push 100 shot of NOS into a neon green colored turbo charged Eclipse, trying to catch up with a red RX-7. But you'd get warnings about endangering your manifold from your built in laptop computer, first.

Seriously, the only problems I've heard of from any CAI is a CEL (from a badly installed or damaged MAF sensor, or the Fujita CAI), and hydrolock. Oh, and increased gas consumption from hearing the motor rev. :D

i actually just installed my Injen CAI in my 08 today.

completely easy install, most annoying part is getting that second pipe through, i socked it up and still managed to scratch it a bit, its okya most of that pipe is hidden in the fender anyway. I havent noticed any thing that would cause a rubbing issues, the pipe and the filter sit pretty far back from the body panels and the fender wheel well guard.

looks good and sounds even better!
love it, ive been finding excuses all day to go out to drive.

what about the fujita CAI, i have it and no CEL for months now. but yeah get the Doc I's bracket cause it will help you from ever rubbing the second pipe onto the fender unless you put a bunch of tape on the edges and go getto style which no one will notice but it's better to pay than to be sorry.

yes BS cause before i got my intake i was rolling with headers, mid-pipe and cat-back exhaust and car still ran good and now better with an intake. only problem was that i had too much back pressure.

You need new friends. Doesn't it bother you that your friend is so eager to look knowledgeable about something that he doesn't seem to know anything about that he would lie to you? Kind of makes him a loser, doesn't it?
