Default Put on my K&N Filter this past week......

and I've noticed decreased gas mileage and no increase in acceleration or actually any positive results.

Any idea why?

you've just been on the gas a bit harder probably to hear the sound. i got one in too and removed my snorkel. did it like 2 tanks ago and didn't necessarily see any gains in mpg yet.

i removed the snorkel and dropped in the k&n at the same time, so i guess thats why i noticed the sound difference.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...norkel+removal

very long thread, but its pretty much that bottom pipe that leads into the stock airbox that you dropped the k&n into. its only screwed on by a bolt near you front headlight. then pull off the snorkle from the airbox, grab it by the skinny part, found it to be the easiest. you'll just have to figure that out. but it just pulls out, its very simple.

Yeah, remove the snorkel so the airbox can breath better. Then pull the ECU fuse for 10 minutes and replace so the computer can relearn how to run with the new upgraded airbox. Then you will see the better mpgs.
Anytime you upgrade or change anything it's a good idea to reset the ECU.

i switch to K & N in everything i can and as soon as possible. performance is why.
they are not really cheaper (overall).
they let more dirt in (more air = more dirt).
they let more gas in (more air = more gas), more air/fuel = more power.
anyway, most of the performance mods seem negligible considering that they increase at a percentage and percentages of 100hp don't really add up for the bucks spent. it is FUN though and that is why i continue! thanks!

I think you can but then your clock and radio stations will need to be reset.
The fuse is in the box under the hood drivers side.

NP, the fuse should be clearly marked in the fuse section of the owners manual.
