Every time I get out of my 06 xB, I generate enough static electricity to shock myself, or the first thing I come in contact with. I haven't modified the car in anyway. I am using the factory mats.

Has anyone else had this issue? What have you done to resolve it?

I guess its because theres such a positive feeling driving the xb? who knows , to be honest I have been zapped so many times If I dont get zapped closing the door I feel pretty unusual lol

 

never had that problem but it's very common with most cars.

 

yeah, that must be it. i dont know why that is. your the first person i have heard say anything about it. but it always happens to me. i love it when other people get out and it shocks them.

 

Yep. Happens to me all the time as well--so much so that my xB has taken the name "sparky"!

 

LoL, my wife gets soooo ____ed..everytime she touches my box, it shocks the ____ out of her. I try not to laugh, but it is so funny.

 

It doesn't happen all of the time but I think it has something to do with what we are wearing...

 

I have Randode's ground wires on order, I hear it eliminates the shocking problem.

 

yep, me too. In fact, I can see the spark in daylight. In the wintertime it hurts. makes me wanna cuss everytime.

 

ground kit = good. No spark yet!!!

 

not sure how that could happen...

 

grounding kits don't do ANYTHING with regards to your butt rubbing against the seat and generating static electricity dude...
unless you ground the thing to the ground, ground... (like.. concrete... dirt.. ground...)

hold metal while you get out of the car.. simple as that. even google is your friend here...

and come on... there's plenty of threads if you search for 'static shock' in the forum search engine..
