Actually what I would like is to have wires in the glass like on the xB. No external antenna at all that way. Anyone know how to go about that kind of conversion?

Trust me, you don't want it to. Power antennas are more trouble than they're worth.

Very nice looking. Much better looking than the stock spiral screwjobs.

One question: does the S2000 antenna work any differently than stock? Does it bring in more FM stations or fewer? The same?

does it just screw into the stock tC base? or you have to replace the base and the actual antenna?

I have the S2000 antenna and it fits into the tC base. I get the same reception.

I "stole" it off my boyfriend's celica, it fits perfectly on the tC, but the tC antenna doesn't fit on the celica so he is stuck without one.

I assumed the tC had that in the beginning. When I test drove one I was shocked at that big RC-car antenna stuck on the back of it. I put a really short antenna on mine that gets *decent* reception, but I don't listen to the radio enough for it matter.

:Side Note: My friend with an xB replaced his stock deck to find that his "hidden" antenna no longer got the same reception. Apparently there is an antenna booster in the stock HU. Now he must find an aftermarket booster. His stereo setup still rocks, though.

CHEAP, VERY, CHEAP Alternative: just cut the TC antenna right when it goes spiral.
Cut it with pliers and then file the excess. Paint the top (just a tiny white spot that remains) and here you go. I am going to take a picture later today.
I know, I am cheap but why spend $20 on a new antenna???
PS. Reception is as good as it was before that "mod"
