Actually what I would like is to have wires in the glass like on the xB. No external antenna at all that way. Anyone know how to go about that kind of conversion?

I assumed the tC had that in the beginning. When I test drove one I was shocked at that big RC-car antenna stuck on the back of it. I put a really short antenna on mine that gets *decent* reception, but I don't listen to the radio enough for it matter.
:Side Note: My friend with an xB replaced his stock deck to find that his "hidden" antenna no longer got the same reception. Apparently there is an antenna booster in the stock HU. Now he must find an aftermarket booster. His stereo setup still rocks, though.

CHEAP, VERY, CHEAP Alternative: just cut the TC antenna right when it goes spiral.
Cut it with pliers and then file the excess. Paint the top (just a tiny white spot that remains) and here you go. I am going to take a picture later today.
I know, I am cheap but why spend $20 on a new antenna???
PS. Reception is as good as it was before that "mod"
