Default My Xb was rearended!!

My Xb was rearended at a stop light. The damage seemed minimal at the time, but it is turning out that it will be about $6000 in repairs, two weeks in the shop. Even though I will get my car back fixed, will it ever be the same? Does anyone know if I should file with the insurance company for the loss in value of the car over preaccident value, and also how much this would be? It only has 8000 miles on it. Thanks for anything anyone knows about this type of thing.

Two words. Diminished Value. aka "DV" in the insurance business.

In non-_______-insurance-adjuster lingo. Your car's now worth a polished turd, "fixed" or not.

(what I'm getting at is you need to inquire about recieving compensation for the DV of your car now, since you will never sell it for it's uncrashed value)

Sorry to hear man! My GF side-swiped someone a while back. Mine's in the shop right now and I won't get it back until Friday. I know how you feel! But $6000!? I guess most of the hatch is screwed huh? Take some pics.
