Default New guy...'06 5-speed

Hey my name is Greg. I have a 2006 xB 5-speed. Bought it back in the beginning of June with 29k on it, it now has over 41k. I was ready to get rid of it last week, then i changed my mind. I work at MBS Performance Exhaust, Marylands premier exhaust fabrication shop. I have fab skills, & have plently of experience modifying cars. Anyway, blah blah blah, here some pics.

The day after I bought it.

removed the plastic secondary filter thing POS

camping up at Summit Point Raceway when i flag the corners there

full 2" catback mandrel-bent exhaust in 409SS with a true high flow metallic cat

i always hated the very tight radius stock intake tube, so i redesigned one out of 409SS...TIG was out of gas that day, so i MIG'd it, it seems to work very well, more mid to top range torque...i hope to dyno it soon to prove it, i have a theory that there should never be a bent right before the TB if possible...i have about 7" of straight in front of it now

thats about it right now, i'm waiting on my JDM exhaust manifold to show up...i found out that they have longer primaries then our US ones...i found on on BidJdm for 26bucks!! I hope to dyno test it too. I plan to lower the sucker too with a KYB Lowfer sports spring strut kit, & I also have 8000K hi/lo HIDs on order to replace my Nokya bulbs. Plus i have LEDs in the brake lights & the tag lights. I run Royal Purple oil in the engine & the trans

Interesting. I'd go the next step and get a MAF adapter and cone filter, eliminate more restrictions.

thanks guys

I really don't think the stock airbox is that restrictive...anymore, the only real restrictions i found was that 2nd filter & the snorkel tube thing...i plan on doing a ram air tube thru the left fog light opening to feed the air box & get a higher flowing drop in filter like the oil-less one from AFE

if this thing is anything like my Tercel, it will like what i'm doing to the air box...my tercel makes .3 less HP with a stock intake that has a mildly dirty paper air filter over a short ram...it has a similar sized box, but it has a better feed tube into the box...i bet a high flow drop in filter will match the gain

I live about 15 minutes from Summit Point. I have yet to go there.

Nice exhaust setup. I wish I had the skills and money to do it.
