Default NEW TIRES ON THE tC!

Hey all.

I just went out to check on some tC's that were just delivered to me. One of them has the Bridgestone's of yore, and one of them has a set of YOKOHAMA S32A 215/45ZR17's on it!

I've always felt that the tires were the weak link on that car, and I hope that the Yokes do a better job.

Just thought you'd like to know, and if it's a repost, sorry for that.

Are they different rims? Meaning not stock rims? Mine are stock with the Bridgestone Potenza tires.

Someone else noted this - but it doesn't seem to be happening everywhere. The RE92s sure are crap - I'm not a big spender but I spent like $650 replacing my RE92s with Continental ContiExtremeContacts with only 800 miles on the RE92s. The guy at the tire store said "You need new tires ALREADY?!?" I thought that was funny.

The stocks aren't the best tires in the world, but they sure arent crap! Sure, they aren't exactly race ready, but the manufacturer balanced between lifetime of the tire and performance. It is a cost thing. If you wanted the better tires, you should have ordered it with the Pirellis on it to start with.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Bridgestones esp in the rain and snow. Luckly my roommate was getting ready to sell his GTi and sold me the Toyo Proxies FZ4 tires that he had bought about 4000 miles previous. And get this he sold them to me for 20 bucks a piece. Now I know FZ4 are all seasons but 20 bucks a piece?? Can't beat that....

Yeah... I got to research my tires and pick just the ones I wanted, but at like $122+tax each, it sure cost a lot more than $100 total.

the stockers aren't cheap. even potenza RE950's would have been slightly better and slightly cheaper than the RE92's!

Right - if you go to tire rack, these amazing Continentals are less than the stock tires. The Pirelli PZero Neros are almost cheaper than them. I guess that's just to say - good and expensive are not the same thing.
