Default ist Armrest question. . .

Found this "Genuine Toyota" armrest that comes in the ist model in Japan.
http://www.myautofashion.com/xaconsolebox.html

Does anybody have this installed? and/or know anything about it, such as height, quality, good item for the price, etc.

My xA really needs an armrest, and I've seen the available aftermarket ones (which seem ok) but would like to go with a genuine factory model, considering it looks nice and falls within the same price range as the aftermarkets.

Thanx for any input

I think quadraphonic has the armrest in his Echo. I believe it sits a little low, too. Right now, I have the Zeta Products storage armrest and I like it a lot... Scion is rumored to be coming out with an armrest, but who knows when that's coming out...

Thanks Michael

You have the short-shifter right? Is the height of the Zeta good or do you find you have to do a lot of reaching to shift?

Mikochu .... as an offical tester of the Zeta arm rest, how is it working out for you? Is the size, height, functionality, etc. good or bad?

Kzuki, I have no problems with the Zeta storage armrest and the TWM short shifter. The lowest setting on the armrest allows me to rest my elbow on the end of the armrest while still being able to shift comfortably. It isn't as natural as shifting without an armrest, but it's much better than when I had the Boomerang armrest. With the Boomerang armrest, it felt like I was reaching into a garbage can. I got used to it, but I think Boomerang is making custom-height armrests now...

Rooster, the Zeta storage armrest is great. The fact that it can be folded up is a plus. My daily drive is to and from school (which is less than a mile away, but with lots of turns), so the armrest is usually up. But if I'm going on the highway, or stuck in traffic, the armrest is down with my arm resting on it.

The armrest assembly is pretty sturdy. I haven't heard or felt it creak at all. The orientation of my arm and my passenger arm on the armrest is my arm toward the front of the armrest and my passenger's arm is toward the center/rear of the armrest. In the armrest compartment, I keep my sunglasses, eyeglass case, a couple of packs of gum, and my FM modulator. The rear cup holder is still accessible from the front (great for bottled water), but not really from the rear seats.

No gripes here.
