In a previous post I mentioned while in Japan I found a really nice armrest. Well, today my packages have arrived. The samples I bought happen to be in one of the boxes.

First of all, the armrest is a leather type material and plastic. Armrest comes with a coin tray and two storage bins. The two bins can be made into one bin if wanted to. On the rear, it opens to hold 2 coke cans (Japanese type) Armrest comes in black or gray.

Armrest fits directly over the handbrake and can be held in place with the provided strap.

Being the armrest is directly over the handbrake, I must reach over the armrest to set the brake. I find the armrest a little low for myself but an easy mod can take care of that being the top of the armrest comes off.

Overall, I find it to be a great item and will contact my sources in Japan in hopes on a group buy or a discount.

that is the one that everyone wants. please find a way to get some more or atleast a part number from where to order it.

 

The one from JJ Products is the ____. While it doesn't have any coin storage etc, it has a perfect color match (and fabric), folds up out of the way, no ebrake clearance issues and most of all it is high enough to be comfortable. It seems to me that having an armrest that is way down low like that is not all that comfortable. I'd try these out before getting one to make sure you all like the height. Anyways, these things are definitely personal preference types of things, but I have the JJ Products one and like it a lot. Installation is really not that hard at all.

good find Ron! Hopefullly you can get more of those, a nice OEM looking armrest would be awesome.

 

I've sent some e:mails to Japan and hope to hear something in a few days.

As mentioned, I felt that the armrest was a little low for me. I'm 5'8" and I felt it was about an inch to low for me. Then again, the armrest maybe lifted from the center brake console with velco or easily modified.

What's the cost of the JDM uint?

 

With shipping from Japan, the unit should retail under a $100.00.
I've seen armrest on eBay for about $125.00 or higher.
Myself, for a JDM product, I think it's a great price. Then again, I only buy JDM products for my xB.
