Why not just use the parking light switch? DRL systems have a light sensor that controls when the DRL's and headlights come on anyway.
When you use the parking light switch, the tail lights are also illuminated and true DRLs have no tail lights illuminated. Just tryin to have it done right. Also, I have my fogs tied to the parking light switch so it makes it very convenient now to have HIDs on with the headlight switch, Fogs on the parking light switch and the DRLs on without anything turned on except the motor, and it goes off when the key is turned off...
is there some kind of diagram that shows how to set the fogs with the parking lights? im getting fogs soon and want it just like this, and exactly how you're saying with tru DRLs there is no taillight on & thats what im looking for as well

Soon as I can, I'll get you a picture of where you can attach your fogs.

Furiouspunch,
Here is the wiring picture you wanted. The taps are on the [black/white] and [green] lines (both are on the same end of the plug connector). The connector is the one just above the headlamp and is clipped to the H/L Housing. Be aware of POLARITY and check with a DVM before you connect to your fogs. If the fogs are fillament bulbs it probably won't matter which you use as long as the foglight circuit does not use a ground connection to the assembly. If you are using the blocked out vents there is most likeky no ground since the entire bumper is made of plastic. Good Luck with your project !

This link worked for me finally too thanks! When you did this, you actually replaced your parking lamps with brighter led's and moved the parking lamp pins completely right? So does anything happen now when you have the key off but the parking lamp switch on? I'd like to do this but would still like to have some kind of low-level front light to function as a parking lamp with the key off. Is this possible?

You would then have to put an external switch so that you can go from (a)the shown modified connection or (b) a live 12v source and the common to your parking lamp pins (2 green wires) That would enable to have your new, led lamps on when thekey is off. What you'd need would be a DPST switch which could be like 3 bucks at RadioShack.
That would enable you to power the parking lights when the key is off, since what I have is altered the circuit to fire up without having the tail lamps on. It is really bypassing the parking light switch, so that the Tails never illumiate with that setup. (you will need to then, turn on 2 switches, since the tails will come on without the front lamps wusing the blinker stick parking light switch.
