Cruise control question
They didn't have a car with the options I wanted and cruise control, so I picked up my xB last week and the dealer put the cruise control on yesterday. If you have factory-installed cruise, I'm wondering what it looks like. Mine is mounted on the left-hand side of the steering column, and seems pretty cheap. It looks like something the dealer ordered out of the JC Whitney catalog.
I'm asking what yours looks like because I want to make sure my dealer didn't just install some cheap aftermarket cruise on my xB.
Thanks!

Toyota (Japan) does not make a cruise control for the xA/B.
The cruise normally installed is made by a third party (Rostra) and even though it is a good control and works well, it looks a bit, uh, cheesy. http://www.allscion.com/cruisecontrol.html

I got one installed on my xB also, but they came to the house to do it. I am happy with the look, was pleased with the install and the fact that I got to watch. But I am especially happy with the performance. I have taken several trips and it is worth it's weight in gold.

Push button on end to power up (green light will come on).
Push "set" putton on top left to engage cruise when you are at the speed you wish to maintain.
If you want to increase the speed once set, momentarily touch the acc button. Each tap increases speed approx 1mph.
Same but opposite with the coast button for slowing down.
To make larger changes in speed, either up or down, push and hold button until desired speed obtained.
If you have to hit brake to disengage cruise, you can momentarily hit the resume button and it will automatically take you back to the previous cruise level.
