Goo Gone

I've used goo gone to remove excess residue from the emblems, but that was on paint. What i want to know is this: Is goo gone safe for the outsides of the windows? Trying to remove some vinyls.

your asking if something used safely on a painted surface safe to use on glass?

I'd assume it's safe for "glass" or "windows."

sorry I've had a couple drinks...but I would say that generally if its save to use on painted surfaces it's safeto use on glass...

No harm meant btw...

You could use some WD-40 if you have that around the house!! that is what I have used on glass or paint.

Or you could use some glass cleaner and a stright edge razor blade. It's really easy. 95% of the glue residue comes off when you take the sticker off.

I would be far more worried about the paint than glass with goo gone.. You should use 3M adhesive remover which is made to work safely with automotive paint

and if you do use goo gone its important to wash the excess off immediately and you will wanna re-wax that area afterwards as well

Another important thing is to not confuse "Goo Gone" with "Goof Off", which is a considerably stronger solvent. I tried Goof Off on some phonedial hubcaps and it took the paint off very nicely!

just get a blowdryer over the decal or vinyl on the window and it all peals off as one and is way easier ...

do not use goo gone on glass it will leave a residue that will take an unusualy long amount of time to remove with repeated applications i suggest wuseing the 3m product for this application
