Well i was planning on removing my TRD emblem and everyone here are saying to buy goo gone. So i went to autozone and krage but they dont carry them. Where do you buy Goo Gone or is that just a nickname of another product. I was gonna use tar remover but i heard it doesnt work as good as 'goo gone'.

 

Goo Gone, Goof Off, or lighter fluid (for wick lighters, Ronsonol, Zippo or other brands) will all work the same.

You can get GooGone at just about any drug, department or grocery store.

 

Goo gone is just a brand name of an adhesive remover - as stated above, you can use others if you cant find it.

 

Goo Gone <> Goof Off!

Goof Off is a much stronger paint remover. Took the paint right off a "phone dial" hubcap when I was trying to remove the adhesive from the "bB" center area.

 

WD40 will also do the trick....

 

I use "orange peel" as recommended by my vinyl supplier. I think he said he got it at Home Depot. Peeled the vinyl dealer sticker and adhesive off in nothing flat.

Also smells like oranges.

 

be careful with that crap! Try some old-fashioned car-wash soap first. That was all I needed to debadge my wrx.

Goo Gone is an orange based solvent for wax-based adhesives and similar.

Goof Off is a paint remover - it even dissolves dried latex house paint...

If you use that on your cars paint, make sure you put a coat or two of wax on afterwards, cause it will strip your wax as well

 

no matter what you use...wash and wax it afterwards...

 

yeah.....goo gone is way better than goof off for use on paint.....goo gone is citrus oil based so it's safer for use on cars.....goof off is lighter fluid....basically
