Like many of you I too have gotten my share of paint chips in the front of my xB. I'm thinking of getting the 3M film but hating to pay the amount. Also, being I have a JDM front lip a custom piece would need to be made for my xB.
Which brings me to my suggestion. I'm sure many of you have seen cars being transported. Well, many of them have a white static film applied to them. Why can't we have something like that for our cars?
Well, today I stopped into a fabric store and bought two yards of 8 guage clear vinyl. Ended up costing me less then $5.00. Came home and applied it to my car. It stuck like a magnet. It's not the best looking but it might help on those long trips somewhere. Maybe taking your time and making a pattern will make it look better. Again, I just threw it on my car to see if it stuck. Haven't tried it at high speeds yet but then again, it cost me less then $5.00. Who cares if it flies off.

I've heard of people using blue tape but it does leave a film when it gets hot. Maybe the clear vinyl and blue tape for the edges would work better? The clear vinyl only take a few seconds to apply and just as easy to remove.
Anyway, there's gotta be a better way for protecting our cars rather then spending $500.00 for clear tape.

Im going to get the regular cloth black bra, i mean for 100 dollars, I think its worth it. Some people may not like the look of it. But I'de not have 10,000 scratchs in my paint, and make the car a little less beatiful. Im more worried about the windsheild though, and no body seems to have a solution for it.
I got a full-frontal carbon fiber look bra from Colgan Custom.... It looks really nice, and only cost $120. I can take it off and put it on in about 5-10 min. I use it for road trips like going to Vegas, but it looks so good I don't mind leaving it on other times as well.
If anyone wants, I could post pics in several days.
