Default fitment issues with TRD STB... WTF!!!

ok so i had the DC Sport STB and i opted for the TRD one cause i won it at a raffle and its more aesthetically pleasing with a red intake and a soon to be red valve cover and red optima battery and red hoses... well you get the idea... i just got done throwing my intake in and decided to test fit the STB bar and it doesnt want to fit on properly... its looking like im gonna have to drop the drivers side strut out of the mount and then lay the STB on top and feed the bolts back through... this is a retarded amount of work for a STB install... anyone else had this problem... i am finding out quickly that having one of the oldest tC's in the area isnt as cool as it once was... stupid fitment issues...

i've never heard of that kind of issue. It may take some wiggling, but it should go on no problem. I have the hotchkis bar which is the same as the trd and I dont have any issues. You did take off the wiper cowl right? If not, that makes life a lot easier. The bar was made for the car, it should fit right on....it is a real authentic bar and not some knockoff right?

hmm...

yeah its real... i got it from a dealership so it better be... i think there are some differences in the mounting plates between the TRD and the hotchkis... im pretty sure if i go the route of the xA/xB STB i will be fine (i.e. drop the strut, set the bar on the tower, raise strut back through holes)...

you can do that if you want, but you shouldn't have to.

You removed the wiper cowl and jacked up the car? It truly should be THAT simple. Just take the 2 14mm bolts off after the cowl is off and the car is up, then slip it on and torque it down. I'd personally figure out why its not working rather than dropping the strut - if you ever want to install a stiffy, or an intake, w/e, you'd need to remove the bar and you'll have to drop the strut each time, thats a lot of work...Something doesn't sound right here...
