Timelapse: Synergy V8 Swapping a GT86

11,000 RPM, 500+ horsepower and a sequential transmission for added fun.

The Synergy V8 is a family of race-ready V8 engines crafted from motorcycle technology. The larger displacement 3,000 cc variant utilizes twin Kawasaki Ninja ZX12R-based heads for the 3.0-liter V8 engine. Synergy Power quotes this engine as being capable of 515 horsepower and 10,900 RPM, before any upgrades or options. Based out of New Zealand, Synergy Power will build you a race-ready V8 for $43,000, before any add-ons.

YouTuber user Garland Wong has swapped the 3.0-liter Synergy V8 into his Subaru BRZ. Along with that, he has replaced the standard Aisin-sourced 6-speed manual transmission with a Quaife QBE60G sequential race transmission. It’s hardcore hardware, and a build that would make most enthusiasts envious.

What does it talk to make it a reality? Well, fortunately, Wong filmed a timelapse video of pulling the stock FA20 engine and swapping in the Synergy V8. Additionally, he has some footage of the Synergy V8 firing up, and it is gnarly.
