**Not a tC, but its got a 2AZ**

Sick, sick, sick 2AZ!
As I'm sure you already kno' your trans is actually more suited to FI; 1st gear on tC's are short.
High mileage on a Toyota's no problem, but if your not gonna rebuild, at least do a compression check

Your answer is in your question...
Nice Camry. I just bought a 2009 Camry LE that we have some plans for.

i appreciate it, gl w/ the 09... kenny's car can give you some ideas, his is sick.
**edit--if the ARC intake from the tC fits my car, consider the boost out the window unless a TRD supercharger would fit with it... just looking at the pics of that intake make me want moar JDM

^yup, its pretty cool how long the gears are..
I just did a theoretical calculation -- with a 7500rpm limit and 245-45-18 tires, it would do 42, 73, 113, 155, and 205mph
That's compared to 39, 68, 105, 144, 192mph with the tC final drive.
Maybe its time for 650whp, gutted, caged, and big seat belts
**picked up a set of 245-40 direzzas, gonna raise the car up a bit and have some sticky tires for the rest of the summer. should be fun
^4th, on a closed road

Little update/ uh ohh --- Car started to use oil after I ran seafoam in the crankcase
had to add a full quart after 1200 miles... I guess all of the abuse I've given it is finally taking a toll, it's creeping towards 200k miles now..
So I've got my eye on a few new cars including the Sonata turbo and depending on whether or not I fit in it, the BRZ/FT86...
Any ideas how to decrease the consumption? I've always run Mobil 1 synthetic, but recently switched to non-synthetic high mileage Mobil 1...
I put new wheels on a few months back, traded the black XXR's for these, blew a tire in like 2 weeks

You switched from synthetic to non-synthetic oil. I have made the same mistake with the same results. Not quite as much oil consumption as your's, but at 200k you got your money's worth.
It's a nice ride, you could build the beast you want and come out cheaper than buying a new ride. The "new" car feeling does not last long, the payments do though! All in what you want though.

and you're right, I could build the living shat out of it and have somethin pretty special.. we'll see.. I've always wanted a pair of Recaros, a quick-release steering wheel, and big brakes. The 08+ highlander rotors/calipers actually bolt on and are larger than Supra TT brakes
*now the consumption-- I tossed in Seafoam for the last 1k miles of an oil change, ran the living ____ out of it until I changed the oil... It's been using oil ever since (180k, at 195k now)

Why did you Seafoam it? Top end have build up you could see in the oil fill hole? If a car has been run on good synthetic changed at regular intervals, there is no need to Seafoam it. Mobil has done studies proving that normal engines with their syn. oil ran for 100k miles, still meet factory mic. specs on all internal wear items. I used Mobil 1 full syn. in all my rides for 18 years, none used oil and the oil came out clean at 5k intervals. When the prices shot up a while back, I switched to a cheaper non syn oil. Castrol I think. It was a long time ago, vehicle was a Nissan truck with 120k on the O.D. The very next oil change at 3k was 1.5 qts low. It burned oil even after I tried to change back. Anyways, I'm ... Good luck with your project.

heard good things, and I tried it first in just the vacuum line and gas tank at around 150k and it worked BRILLIANTLY. car ran SO much better but didn't use even a drop of oil.. then at 180-ish I did it in the crankcase and BAM, she gets thirsty.
it's all good, car has been way more reliable than I could ever asked for. its still on the stock clutch for cryin out loud
