But to be on topic, like I've said before, provided the Evo wasn't neglected and beaten on, it should be fine...Oh, and people! If you can't afford the $2 difference between regular and premium, you probably shouldn't be driving.
First off, worrying about a Warranty on an Evo is suspect because I'd imagine a buyer would buy an Evo to do a lot of upgrades...I mean you're dealing with a rental car interior here...make your time worth while!
Secondly, go to South Coast Mitsubishi if you want the best experience when buying and owning an Evo.

thank you lol...im just going to bring my mechanic friends and let them take alook at what kind of damage was done. Then i can truely decide to buy the evo or sti or just wait ans get the new evo x

those are some gangster a$$ dads then. (in a good way, i wish my dad drove an evo)
As someone who daily's an Evo, I recommend it over the gutless, boring tC. The premium fuel is worth it ($4.5x up here). The lack of a warranty is worth it.
No, you can't. The number of people that have committed fraud against Mitsubishi is staggering, so they've pretty much denied warranty claims on as many Evolutions as possible. There have been stock cars that have been denied claims due to 'abuse' of the vehicle. If you change the oil yourself but don't keep a log and receipts for the oil, you can be denied.
Thank the people that mod and race their cars, break something, and return it to stock to get warranty work done. From my limited time in the tC world I know that car is no stranger to those idiots.
Go to www.evolutionm.net and search for buying tips. Do the research and know what you're going to get yourself in to.
and you can upgrade an evo w/o voiding the warranty.

say we had the same amount of money(35,000). you go and buy and evo and your all tapped out. i go buy a tc and put 15k into it, and youd be wishing you could keep up with the gutless tc.
And I could just buy a CRX for 2k and use the other 13 to build up a k20 and slide it in, and blast off 10s all day long while you're just scratching 15.0. Hell, I could put $500 down on a Hayabusa and run 9s without any modifications at all.
Hmmmm...I could buy a Porsche GT2 for 200,000 dollars or I could spend a bunch of money building my Evo to out-perform one. I'll take the Porsche, thanks.
Who cares what you can do to your tC? You have plastic interior, a weak and gutless, unsupported engine, an ecu that still hasn't been decrypted in almost 4 years, virtually no legitimate aftermarket support and a majority following crowd of ricers and hookers.
I mean, your Drivetrain & Power section has more threads on axle-back exhausts than it does on anything that has to do with 'power.'
At the end of the day, having owned both cars, I can easily say that stock for stock, and definitely mod for mod, the Evo destroys the tC. The cars do not compare.
Ever.

I say nay.. I heard evo transmission on a evo is pretty bad. My friend has one and when he hit about 30k miles his tran went out already and my other friend after about 28k miles he felt his tran going as well. And yea on top of that you can only use premium. So tc ftw hahaha
The tC and Evo are two completely different animals. You might as well be comparing a Zonda to a tC.
Stock for stock, the $17k econo-coupe is never, overall, going to be better than the Evo, which is a $30k rally sedan. I'm sorry, but it's not. That being said, there should be no pride taken by a $30k rally sedan beating a $17k econo-coupe. Sure, the tC might be better in some very specific areas... but overall, there's just no comparison.
