This actually really makes me miss my old Scirocco and Corrados.. RIP dudes. (Even tho they were POS's most of the time.. they were still bada$$).

Check out this spy shot of the 2008 Scirocco. Good stuff. Can see a lot of the old cars reincarnated in this.

 

The question would be... is it going to be sold in the US?

 

I quickly tried to find a pic of the back end and interior, but no luck, it looks really nice up front though!

 

My guess would be yes.. it's going to based on the Golf platform, be in the $20-25k (US dollar) range, and I first saw something on it in MotorTrend last month.

I can't say I know for sure, but early signs are pointing to yes. I'll see if I can find any other useful info pertaining to its sale in the US.

Yeah, I suspected as much. I'm kinda hoping for a 2.0T AWD model. As badass as the "R36" will probably be, I wouldn't swing that much money for it, even if it looked like this. And after buying my WRX, I just don't think i can ever go back to FWD, even with the promised "Launch Assist". The 2.0T is a great little engine and it can easily be tuned to 280hp/300+tq. I shudder to think how much a 3.6 liter V-6 AWD version would weigh. The 2.0T FWD GTI already weighs more than my WRX!

it should be called corrado. not scirroco. looks like the new gen corrado. i love it. they didnt even ruin the front on this one like they did the mkV's

i don't believe they would. the corrado replaced the scirocco. but this should be a corrado or give it a new name. but i like it.

 

I just picked up my newest sport compact car mag and they have little blurb on it. they also had a real pic in stead of sketch. sorry i dont have a scanner but it's got 18"-19"s and almost azure color. actually has very similar body lines to the tc. nice lookin car.

EDIT::: It does appear that the red photos (first post up top) are what the 2008 Scirocco is going to look like. Thank god. It's supposedly debuting the first half of 2008.. which means it may be late 2008-early 2009 before we see it out here?
