Wow, the pix immediately above are pretty trick. It's reminiscent of a Benzo though, it looks nice and if VW keeps styling these cars as they are doing, I may have to go back to my roots. Air Cooled VWs....and this new breed of VWs will be my first water cooled execpt from my toaster. Peace!

 

I had a 93 Corrado VR6. Nice car, well engineered, great performance but reliability SUCKED!

i remember back in the days we'd used to run air VS water cooled cars IN sacto raceway for the bug ins....it's been a while but i actually just pulled my '56 out of the bushes this afternoon so i can get back into the VWs since my toaster is going to pull my bug to the shows ths season. we'll see what happens in the next few months.....time and money will tell

 

I agree w/ that for some reason since most of the water cooled cars are front wheel drive now, there's power but just not the suspension to totally hook up on the track or even at the local race spots.

 

if you plan on pulling a bug with your xb your xb will break. it can only tow 900 pounds. not 1500

 

automobile magazine has a picture of the back end of the 2008 scirocco. according to the article, the new beauty will be boasting super & turbo charge and also possibly 300 hp. now if only my lovely 87 Scirocco hadn't died i wouldn't have to wait until 2008...sigh.

 

i had a 87 scirocco with the 16 valve motor that car was such a fun car to drive i was so upset when i sold it....i still have my 89 VW Jetta GLI with the 16 valve motor also sittin in my Backyard with over 250,000 miles and still turns on and runs like a champ....I wanna get the motor out of that bad boy and rebuild it and put it in my 82 VW Rabbit Convertible...
