Default 2012 Ford Focus ST

http://www.autotribute.com/7116/new-...us-st-preview/

Just curious on everyone's opinion on the 2012 Ford Focus ST. I for one am in love with it. I think that color concept is hot, plus the interior just looks sick.

I'm keeping my scion for 2 more years, and then moving on to something else, so I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one.

Saw it in person at the Washington Auto Show. Love the rear end, especially the center line exhaust. The spokesguy I was talking to said it was aiming at the VW GTI. I thought this was kind of odd, since the GTI is small volume and not rally-focused. The front grill is a bit excessive, and a bit on the cheap side. Interior is nice, though a bit too in-your-face boy racer. I can't see me getting one now that I've cracked 30, kinda hard to give your boss a ride in it.

I saw a few other nice concepts, one of the main ones being the Hyundai Veloster. Only wish it was turbo like Europe will get.

Hyundai Veloster 3-door coupe (updated)

Watch ..American cars are gonna reign supreme in America again one day lol. If Ford and GM brought over their Euro, Aussie and Mid Eastern versions over to the states ..bam..done deal. ESPECIALLY the Aussie Fords.

I can actually see what he meant by aiming at the GTI. Even though the focus is known for rally, the ST that is coming the the U.S., is not awd, so rather then put this car in the category of evo or sti, it would actually fit in more with say, gti ms3.

I don't know, maybe its just because my favorite color is orange lol, but I like what I see

I'm liking the path Ford is taking ..not so much GM, which the American citizenry had the majority of their tax dollars dumped on. They still have a negative stigma though ..unfortunately. At-least with me they do but I would buy a Stang GT in a heartbeat lol.

The Ford Focus is on the same Ford C1 global platform as the Mazda3 - it should be a very enjoyable car. Ford has usually done pretty well when it uses Mazda-sourced architecture.

I always liked these Mazdas-in-all-but-name, though they were saddled by both an embarrassing name and looked meek sitting next to new Mustangs in the showrooms (they were actually intended to be the replacement for the Mustang at one point.)

Even after they made them into Mercuries, they still looked good to me:

Both were based on the Mazda 626.
