Have you noticed that on the USA TV show Psych they drive a 4 door Yaris hatchback? It must be taped in Canada since they don't sell them in the states.

Why are all the good cars sold everywhere except the US? How many more YEARS of high gas prices will it take for the manufacturers to realize that the efficient motors they've sold in Europe for years would sell like hotcakes here?

Uhm yea, except that you can buy a 4 door Yaris in the states. In fact I have 2 in my show room right now.

 

We have the 4-door in the US, but not the 4-door hatch, which I would have considered buying if they offered it here. The 4-door we have here is basically a Toyota Belta.

 

Ahh, I see. But we have the Scion xA, ya see..... And I'd be willing to bet that Toyota doesn't offer the 4 door yaris hatch in the same market as the scion xA. Although I could be wrong.

 

You're probably right. The xA is also known as the Ist in some countries, so it'd be interesting to see if the Ist and Belta overlap?

 

I tivo the show and paused it last weekend and saw it says echo on the back which I never heard of a hatch back before. I did some research and it is an Echo on the show but it's now called a Yaris.
