i know that you can get one in the US now. (thanks to jay leno the company got their hands on GMs EcoTech engine which made it cheaper...not better)

i was just wondering if its street legal in the US since it doesnt have windshield. i would hate to get hit by a rock on the freeway...would probably pierce your eyeball.

 

I'm sure its smart to wear a helmet. A motorcycle doesn't have a windshield like a car. People still wear helmets when they ride a motorcycle.

 

ask the bikers how is the rocks and bugs taste.... in fl most of them doesnt wear helmet. probably steet legal but you have to wear helmet. not sure....

Its mandatory to wear a helmet in Oregon. And its common sense. Doesn't the Ariel come with a supercharged honda engine too?

 

They are Street legal (if i can remember correctly), you just have to wear a helmet like you would on a bike.

 

hello, i'm jay leno, i don't know jack about cars, and i am very cheap, this is why i chose to get my ariel atom with gm's ecotech engine rather than the honda civic type r engine. cuz you know me, i'm all about making cars cheaper and more practical, now to move around my ferrari's and lambo's to make room for this tiny little atom after i joyride in my corvette ZR1!

Yeah a K20 honda engine with a supercharger = 300hp. Curb weight is 1400lbs. Thats crazy.Price tag is crazy too.

 

it used to be 1000lbs...making it 600HP per ton....whats with the extra weight???

i so want the V8 model...funny how the cylinders are half the size of tCs.

if someone has the money for the 300hp version i guess moding a windshield would be worth it. bigger tires too.
