Bigger Rims = Bigger Brakes?
Has anyone increased their brakes, along with increasing their diameter of rims?
I have always been told if you get bigger rims, get bigger brakes. Or you'll wear your OEM brakes that much faster.
Does anyone have any input on this?

They'd look better....lol
An increase in rim size does not require bigger brakes. They will change your effective gear ratio though, and if they are too heavy will wear your suspension components faster and increase unsprung weight making you slower and perhaps even affect fuel economy.
So no, bigger rims do not = bigger brakes

buying pads more often is cheaper than a big brake kit... an inch or two bigger rims wont seriously hurt braking performance.......... might i recommend steel braided lines rather than a big brake kit if you are that concerned about braking performance?
