Bird's new ride!
^ If anything, upgrade the rear brake. I rarely use the front brake and if you have a more powerful front, you're more likely to go over the handlebars...
I was looking at a disc upgrade myself, my frame and fork support it, but my wheels don't. The hubs on the wheels need to have a threaded mount or a 6-bolt mount for the discs first, and obviously, the frame/fork need to have mounts for it.
It would cost me at least $300 to do it right, so at that point, I'd just spend a few bills more on a new bike that's already equipped with disc.

Yea, hydraulic disc is pretty sweet, but unless you're doing some serious off road riding or downhill, it's overkill.
I'm just trying to find some grippy pads for my linears. I keep hearing koolstop is the way to go.

Yea my fork and wheels support the upgrade, I when I got that bike I chose the one I have because it was 200$ less because it didn't have the disc brakes everything else was the same. I have to tare down the bike and clean her and replace some parts.. Might as well upgrade some parts since my girl wants use to go riding more often..
I am going to try and sell my current fork. If anyone wants it let me know, I'll let it go mad cheap.
I really want to finish this soon. I want to go out and RIDE! My current bike makes me long for the trails, lol.

Okay ladies, this project is officially on the back burner, possibly scrapped. There it too much to do and I don't have the time right now, not with school and possibly moving. Soooooo, I have decided to turn my current mtb into a singlespeed and maybe pick up a road bike. Sucks, I know.
New grips on my regular mtb. I realized after a 12 mile ride today, that the old grips hurt like a _____ and were super worn. So I picked these up. They weren't cheap but they feel so much better.

Those are nice. I have Titec Hellbent grips on mine. They're not quite as extreme as that with the palm rest, but they're way more supportive than the stock ones. I also usually wear gloves on long rides too.
Yeah, they feel great, but I am still adjusting them. Trying to find that sweet spot. I def need to invest in gloves. Did a 15 miler today, I am spent.
