Ford shadowing Scion
I thought at the beginning that scion would be just another car to drive, something to just add to the pile, and after joining the family I can see what they are all about. It is a very good deal, so good that everyone else seems to be picking up on the formula. Here is a quote from the article of the redesigned 2008 Ford Focus:
"We know the formula for success in the small car segment: Affordability, quality and a fun to drive, sporty personality,” says Cisco Codina, Ford group vice president, North America Marketing, Sales and Service. “These are the priorities that drove the redesign of the Focus for 2008.”
It is interesting to see all the features they have put into the new vehicle to include, lighted cup holders and foot area with the option of 7 different colors. This is not your average Focus, the line includes a coupe and I hope the formula works for them, only time will tell. Here is the link so you can view and comment yourself on the matter.

that focus model looks too nice, are we sure that isnt a euro model? ford usually keeps the cool looking cars for the other half of the globe and sends us the "designed by a 5 year old" version
Actually... if any of you knew your car history, you would know that Scion copied Ford...
How? Well.. the 1964 1/2 Mustang was a cheap, effecient car that was made to be upgraded by the customer, much like our Scions.
"When the Mustang debuted in 1964, it had a large number of available options. The long list of optional equipment enabled buyers to fully customize their cars to their tastes and budgets. It also resulted in typical transaction prices hundreds of dollars above the base price, making the Mustang profitable not only for the dealer but also for the manufacturer."
Sound familiar??????
I know Ford might be ____ now, but NOTHING touches their 50's and 60's cars... EVER!!!!!!

im just suprised because that version we are getting here is soo nice. im glad they didnt do the lame 3 bar chrome grille on it (at least not the obnoxious version like on the edge, it looks slick on the fusion).
Heh poor attempt to regain market share. I once owned a Focus with the Zetec engine but sold it for my TC and I can't see myself going back for a focus until they bring them hot European models to the US. It makes no sense that a U.S. company gives there best cars to Europe and gives us crap. Totyota with scion, and the upcoming GTR as well as Volkswagon with the R32 and GTI's learned there lesson when will Ford learn?

Interesting. I actually bought my xB in October of 2006 when I traded in my Focus wagon. I may be a little different than alot of people but I loved my wagon, and the way it looked, thats why I bought it. That and I needed the cargo room for DJ equipment. I even tried to keep it but couldn't get my payments low enough. What Im wondering is what this new model is based on. I know a little about the focus and the supposed reason why they didnt bring the euro version here is b/c it's basically a volvo and what they would of had to charge would have priced it out of the market the focus is shooting for in the US.
Okay, I just looked at pics of the new Focus on the net and its garbage. First, theres no more wagon and I dont know about a hatch. Second, it doesn't even look similar to the earlier focus. I bet it flops. Best design of the Focus was the first and the new euro version. I sense a repeat of the escort, did great overseas, they brought it here and ruined it... Good thing I bought a Scion.
