I am thinking this is a BAD IDEA.. The tC does NOT need to be like the xB.. I mean WTF. How about making it Lighter and add some power via Turbo from the factory, an Extra gear alla 6 speed tranny, that sits on a rearwheel drive platform with a Limited Slip in the rear end, or even better yet make it All wheel drive and call it an All Trac like in the 90's. Please GOD let them bring back the GT4 Celica (All Trac Turbo in the USA)

Because they don't want to try and sell a car that costs $35,000.

Wow, cool. Something new.
Hmmm, teaser is scary. Looks like a redesign of a PT Cruiser. *shudders* Hope it doesn't. Also if it replaces the tC I hope it comes with a "no glass roof" option.

Welp, if it's any consolation-- the front overhang looks really short... and that's a good sign of RWD

Only in select areas of the nation will parents spend $700 a month for a car for their kid.

the fuse look a lot heavier then the tC so I think they will add a lot more power to it. People are going to have to wait and see what will happen.

most people on here cant even handle a FWD, i could picture giving ricer kids a RWD

it would be like the mustang X11dy billion

AWD would be more practical but its a lot more expensive and if the car is in the low to mid 20's there a lot of WRX's and STI's going for that price.

I can see in a few years the AWD market being huge

Unless there's a breakthru in hydrogen or fusion power, don't see awd be'n huge. Its heavy and lowers MPG. Lighter cars are the future.

You can't compare a 4 cylinder wagon to an 8 clyinder SUV. AWD weighs more and puts less power to the wheels compared to F/RWD. It's the same effect as Auto vs Manual trans (even though Autos are starting to get the same mpg now).

wow

TC owners crack me up

i can tell you haven't really dealt with AWD

AWD does not put less power to the wheels

your thinking 4WD, there is a difference
from the crank, it diverts the power to all 4 wheels rather then just 2

4WD puts down less power to the wheels but increases torque

ive delt with all automotive platforms in the past,

MR2
Evo
Jeep

+ a long list of other FWD cars

but then again, i guess you've owned all those cars also

but back on topic,

the wife says she thinks it could be the back of the car

hmmmm interesting........
