umm that's funny but not really harsh towards the prius . IT KILLS the fusion in EVERY aspect and it holds it's resale value unlike ANY ford . bwahahahaha a. silly american cars , when will they just give up .

well...actually...the ford fusion hybrid doesn't compete with the toyota prius, it competes with the camry hybrid, AND in the last car and driver comparo of hybrid sedans, the ford fusion BEAT the toyota camry, actually...i think it placed first, lemme go check.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests

and yes, yes it did win the comparo. still not a fan of hybrids, but apparently ford is now doing it better than everybody else right now!

ford paid toyota so it can use toyota's hybrid synergy drive system .

ford doesn't do ANYTHING best .

it's smaller and much more down market than the camry better mileage or not .

okay,

ford fusion base price:27,995; price as tested: 32,555
toyota camry base price: 26,870; price as tested 31,766

the prius is technically a mid-size sedan, but it is much smaller than the fusion, camry, and all other cars in the segment, it only really competes with the honda insight and civic hybrid.

why don't you actually read the comparison. like it or not, the ford won it is a very through test. and usually car and driver is accused of being biased against american car companies and loving only honda and bmw. the fact that a ford won is great.

look, i admit american car makers have dropped the ball big time, but trust me, you guys do not want them to just disapear. seriously.

dude i work in the auto industry i know what will happen if the american car companies go bye bye and i'm willing to take those risks.

i;ve driven the fusion hybrid and non , it doesn;t compare in any way to the camry hybrid or non .

this is my opinion , albeit a slightly toyota biased opinion but i have to learn and drive almost all new cars so as i can tell people the comparisons between comparable cars

oh and price doesn;t denote downmarket or upmarket . materials and craftsmanship do .

oh and that article you just linked me is TINY and not very comprehensive at all IMO tis why i dislike car and driver i suppose .
