Um...what's with all ths honda hate?

Honda has some pretty bland lookin vehicles...but you make it seem like if toyota has anything more exciting to offer?

the accord is more exciting than the camry, civic more exciting than corolla

the only thing that would be exciting in toyota would be the Scion brand, which I'm hoping you are referring to.

and currently, it seems to me that toyota has no sporty car except for tC and is300. Honda still retains some of theirs?

toyota doesnt have an is300. it's an is250 and is350 both of which are ugly to me. the new lexus gs is very nice. and i'd take a corolla over a civic ANY DAY....

xrs? i guess an ugly **** si which costs much more is alot better to you.

ah and in case ya don't know the most luxurious regular toyota which is also the fastest toyota is an avalon. i'd rock it.

I have nothing against honda, and nothing against toyota, But if it wasn't for the xB I dont think I would ever have bought a yota. Also though, the only reason I bought a scion is because its toyota.
*Oh, and how 'bout a hand for the dealer that reported the problem

well, it used to. You know what I mean..is300, is350, etc.

then again, looks are opinionated, so it's a lost cause for you and I to debate over looks.

However, it would seem for now, you gotta admit honda the brand has more exciting cars than toyota the brand (excluding lexus and scion).

For all the people crying Toyota has recalls like filler neck and wind deflector, how does this even remotely compare to gas pedals getting suck and killing people?!

1) The wind deflector "recall" is NOT a recall, it's a service campaign to place a film on a part to keep it from shattering. Easily prevented by not using your moonroof at highway speeds as noted in the manual, but it's been shown people don't read them anyway.

2) The filler neck and A/C for the xB I believe were TSB's, again not recalls and are hardly considered fatal or even remotely dangerous.

The only "official" recall I can think of that Toyota has had recently is the software bug that Prius' have, which is something I'd still take over a stuck gas pedal anyday.

only exciting car is s2k which sucks ergonomically and seating wise , is overpriced. and the accord which to me is weak. and the lamented si. big whoop. get an rsxS and you'll be ALOT happier.

Well as of today, yes Honda has a more selection over Toyota. Toyota only has like a couple of selections: Camry, Solara, Celica, Corolla, Matrix, and a couple of Trucks and SUVs... I might have to agree with hotbox that, Id choose a corolla over a civic... dunno why... I guess so that it doesn't get stolen? haha, jk.

But I agree with the fun selection over toyota. I doubt that Toyota would ever take the chance of bringing over some models from japan since I bet they would highly be an unsuccesful car... like the Echo.. *shudder*

Lamented.. you mean lauded? To lament is to mourn. I don't think the new Si is being lamented right now that it hasn't even been released yet. I doubt you're talking about the old Si but if you were, it wasn't so lamented so much as loathed by a good portion of the Honda community (although many have found it as a pretty good base for performance.. I don't see what they see.) Or perhaps you're talking about the old 2000 Si? That could be a lamented civic but I hardly see any relevance to the discussion at hand.

In anycase, I wanted to ask what you find is "exciting." Certainly the S2k is a very exciting car. But why not the Si? It handles well and is relatively quick. In fact, the regular Civic, when driven to its potential, is a pretty thrilling ride - especially compared to a Corolla drive at its potential.

Really, exciting is what one makes of it. Ever gotten a V6 Camry into a 4 wheel drift? It's stupid but such cushy understeer makes it possible to get into a nice long FWD drift. Don't try it. It's stupid.

It is funny how people argue their preferences. Some people will always be Honda/Toyota/BMW/Chevrolet/etc fans. It is like arguing what color in the Crayola box looks best. You can't really knock either Honda or Toyota (or their luxury divisions). Just be respectful of others purchases. There are plenty of people on the roads who look at our cars as the ugliest things on the road.

Oh yeah... just FYI my `99 V6 Accord has 114k miles on it with no problems. I'm sure there are other horror stories, but so far I have had nothing but success with mine.

Both companies have their fair share of recalls, so it's not like Toyota's perfect either. They are rated a bit higher, though, but they still have recalls

And besides the exterior of the civic si, I see not reason NOT to buy it over the RSX. And I'm not biased either...considering how I own one myself lol.

no i actually want it to be gone forever to never come. but of course there were like 4 of them at the last auto show i worked.

i'll take a corolla over a civic any day. the civic's are made WAY cheap. and i was talking about the xrs versus si. and yep the si is faster oh well i'd still take the xrs.

what i find exciting is rwd performance at a decent price. or something that isnt played out like a honduh.

i don't find an s2k that exciting. i pretty much hate cars with lift. yes even the xrs i like. i hate having no power until 5k or so later up the power band. now turbo lag is more fun than waiting for vtec cuz at least with a laggy turbo it will hit you like a pile of bricks.

ha ha fwd drifting is stupid but as retarded as it is it can still be quite fun. lol.

never said toyota is perfect. i dont think honduh or toyo are bad as far as that goes.

why get the rsx? looks better. ok besides that? the interior is of higher quality , the interior looks better. oh and the rsx has a vast aftermarket while the si does not..... and yes i know "yet"

to me i CANNOT get over honduhs new designs .

No...the interior is not of that high quality. It's a typical nicely made honda interior, nothing special. Besides the leather seats, it's minimal. And it isn't exactly "acura" quality. There are tons of rattles and trust me when I say the civic si interior is about the same in quality as the RSX.

the si has a vast market, possibly even greater than the RSX. Not only all the mods on the RSX are pretty much compatible, they also have more products that are already out before the car itself.

So if you can get over the exterior and "interior looks", then the civic si is the way to go, when comparing those two particular cars, that is.
