Default Mazdaspeed3, Too Tempting !!!

Is not that I don't love my car, cuz I do. Well the thing is that this damn car looks soo good and comes with things that I would never see in my tc. Looking at it, is a very complete car all around and the 6 spd., sexy interior and tach, oh boy. I just feel bummed, ever since my wife backed up her car against mine a while back. What ya guys think about it? Any experiences on trade in. Dang it, the car looks good.

no experience on that, but right now they are going for well above msrp, so your going to get ripped no matter what.

and since it is a factory turbocharged car and such, your insurance rates would probably be much higher, unless you try and trick the agent by just saying "mazda 3" and leave the speed part completely out of it.

my opinion, just turbo your tc and you can show those mazdaspeed 3 drivers your taillights.

I've been planning on boosting the car for a while, but every time I get the money some dammed thing happens and BAM! there goes the money or get deployed, jeez. Not that I mind that last part though. But good point about the insurance, I completelly forgot about that part.

Don't do dealer trade in. They screw u out of a nice chunk of money, sell it privately to get top $. As for insurance yes it will be much higher due to the factory turbocharger. Ur right on not having to tell ur insurance agent that its turbocharged because they will know everything the car is equiped with when u give them ur vin#.

I just traded a 2004 Mazda 3 for my 06 xB.
The Mazda was nice, and definitely a step up in the quality of interior materials, but there were a few problems:

First, The gas mileage was worse than stated and seemed to be the case for most owners. I got an average of 27 mpg with a five speed and moderate driving.

Second, and most important to me was the problem with the lock that is just now being widely reported. In a nutshell: any one can kick a certain place on the 3's doors and it trick the solenoid into unlocking all of the doors and disabling the factory alarm. This was of great concern to me as a musician as I frequently carry 5-10K worth of instruments in my car. This problem was supposedly fixed by Mazda in Jan. 07 and later cars, but that won't keep people from kicking your door to find out.
Read about the problem here:

yeah, that vin# is a spoiler, but that is the beauty of the aftermarket...i tell them my tc's vin# and and then just extend my insurance coverage for about $3000 for "audio equipment"
