Default The new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer... I had to bring it up

I know I know... Not many people really care or cared about the Mitsubishi Lancer (Im not talking about the EVO) being that it was pretty basic and not much was going for it, but I couldnt help but bring it up now after seeing the new generation Lancer, looks like it had some major changes more power etc.. Could this be competition for the tC? I could be wrong about the whole thing but it sure looks ALOT better than the past models and the price is not too bad! What are your thoughts on it?...

I like the current generation better. The current wider boxier fenders are more aggressive which I like. I think they rounded it out too much just like most manufacturers have done including Scion. The price is pretty reasonable and yes, I think it could be competition for the tC....

i test drove the CVT ES to replace my xA, that version of the CVT dosent have the manual shift mode and it is terrible! No way can the CVT version be competition for the tC, the tC would win hands down...

As far as value, the lancer does have some features that you usually c on higher priced cars, however the tC wins again OVERALL. once you put the microscope on the two as far as value then the lancer starts to pull ahead of the tC but not by much.

me personally, i would take the lancer over the tC because the lancer (manual transmission version of course) has personality. it looks great even without body kits and such (not to say the tC is not a good looking car, but it is rather bland until you start getting into spoilers and the like). So its the style and value that wins me over.

Just my $.02

I think this type of car competes with the Corolla.

it looks like a nice car so has anyone test drove it? How did it feel comparable to the tC?

The lancer is nice, that was one of my choices...

However, the reliability and the aftermarket support won't be as strong, hence the evolution.

It is a nice car though no doubt...

My brother just got one...

I'll state the same comment I said to our co-workers (since we work together) when they asked me how I liked it. "If someone asked me to compare it with Toyota. I would say the engine is on the same level as Corolla's and roomy interior as the Camry. Has more standard safety features than my tC. But his Lancer is luxury (Cause he has more conveince features like Navgation system) while my tC is performance."

The navgation system actually allows you to change the speed of the blink for turn signals, does the math for MPG and at what average speed.

Personally, I love my car and I love the fact owning a Scion is very special feel like we're a family or part of a special club. Since he paid 22,000-ish for his and something is nice for that price will mean alot of buyers are going to buy these...means they are going to be common. There are alot of tC's in my area...but I still get alot of looks from different people. Those tC's are very attractive

I actually laugh couple of times when I first sat in it cause I knew Toyota is so ahead from Mitsubishi; you will see this "Since Toyota did this...We (Mitsubishi engineers) should do it this way but with more class..." lol

I know people will flame me for this but I was actually thinking about trading in my tC for this. The fact that this is a 4 door car and I'm not really down grading as much in hp. I need a 4 door car than a 2 door car with what I do. It has pretty nice features that come with it. I was thinking about getting the GTS or maybe waiting for the Ralliart or better yet the new Evo. I really like the tC, but the rattles are killing me.

It's a pain in the a$$...Cause if you stand away from the car while it's running; there's beep that goes off like seatbelt warning light and beep when you don't have the seatbelt on for the tC. Another thing I noticed with my brother's...the engine clicks non-stop every other second.

yea i saw it in dealer and it looked pretty nice
its cheap too! i saw lancer with some package, less than 20k.
but IMO its too high. Not the suspension, the actual body itself is long. maybe because it was right next to EVO MR
i hope they change a little bit for new evo.

He's too broke to do it...I kept telling him "You can do little by little each payday. I've been doing that with the tC." But he won't listen; he thinks everything should be done at once.

The Lancer cloverleaf commercial is LAME! It looks like it's going to flip over during those turns. They could have atleast added better swaybars to make it look like it can handle curves.
