Yeah, I saw one, and it was pretty clean...Pearl White, with a blond chick driving it.

I've been looking into these lately and have been thinking about getting one for my wife. We've been to the dealer and took one for a test drive.

We drove an ES with the Navigation, Sunroof, and sound package which put the car just over $20k and honestly, I feel really stupid for paying nearly $18k for what I got with my xB.

Everything about the Lancer is very nice especially when compared to a Scion.

The first thing I noticed and the thing I liked the most was when I opened the car's door. It didn't feel cheap or like I was going to rip the door off the hinges and when I shut it, it didn't make that god awful racket that our scions do. The metal of the body is solid and doesn't feel like flimsy sheet metal like the xB which made for minimal road noise while driving.

Performance/Handling wise, the thing was awesome. I would say that it's pretty on key with the tC...maybe just a tad bit quicker but I'm not going to open that can of worms...It felt solid on the road and I felt safe knowing that there's 7 airbags.

My 2nd favorite part about the car is the interior. It blows any stock scion away. Especially with all the functionality offered by the Nav system. It felt nice and luxurious in the cab, the complete opposite of how I feel sitting in my xB.

There's some parts of the body styling that I don't like. The entire rear end is rather ugly...but that's okay. Scion wins in that department lol.

New Lancer = bada$$ car. definitely worth checking out.

*edit* the new xB is probably pretty comparable to the Lancer. I wouldn't know though since I haven't even seen the box2 in person yet

It was on my list of cars to look into when I bought my Impreza. It lost IMO. It has the same performance and gas mileage as my AWD 2.5i but with a smaller engine that sounds like poop in comparison to my boxer. The only thing it had going for it was that it was about $800 cheaper (w/o nav cuz' I don't need that) but the Subie dealer gave me invoice price, $1k cash back, and 1.9% APR. Even if I didn't get all those incentives, I would have paid the ~$800 extra to get AWD and the piece of mind that I was getting a 100% Japanese car. The fact that it's the Lancer's first model year wasn't a big plus for m either. To top it off I like how my car looks better.

07 Impreza 2.5i > 08 Lancer GTS IMHO

The 08 2.5i on the other hand...
