Default NEW CAR CHOICE.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thinking about passing my tC to my wife ( unless anyone wants to buy it for what I owe)

The GTO is $19,999 with 18000 miles ( 18000 miles left on the warranty)
The EVO is $19,950 with 30000 miles ( 30000 miles left on the warranty)

The goat is 360 hp not the 400 i want
The Evo is 276 hp but is white with no spoiler but does have power windows ( is that an option on the the RS.

both fun but different

Your opinions along with your vote please

personally i dont like the evos i think they are fugly i think that the gto is much better looking.
its american so maybe just a little cheaper than an import for mechanical work.
but then its a gm and that might gain you a relationship w your dealership or mechanic.

i just hope thats its not true for my wifes cobalt

this is just a preference tho
hope it helps

as much as I like the Evo, I have to vote GTO at this present time since it is an option. Both have potential for big power. Evo has more of a boy racer image and 1 of the most stolen cars and 1 of the highest insurance rates in the nation..... not to mention other costs of ownership.

buy a third gen rx7 and put a corvette ls1 in it...you get the best of both worlds...import looks with domestic power...

That's the best engine that an import has ever seen.

vote goes to evo

depends on what you want/need....

2 vs. 4 door
rwd vs. awd
raw power vs. boost

what year are they? is the evo an MR? is the gto a 6.0?

UPDATE
drove the gto six speed .
The gearbox sux. it feels rough and stiff and hard to engage.
The 4 doors dont come in to it. i think the evo is an RS with eleccy windows.

the gto is 5.7 but still plenty fast
I think the GTO looks better but i am also worried about depreciation as neither are really good for that

my mistake
threadstarter, you should test drive a 6.0.
with my experiences, huge difference in terms of power between the two

Really? there is only 40 hp between them and i didnt feel much of a diff

BTW the 6.0 manual is 32k new but thet offered me 4k off straight away

In third gear at 30 mph, put the foot down and the power comes on like a tidal wave AWSOME

BTW that rx7 with the corvette motor was amazing.
I thought the big v8 would have upset everything with all that weight in the front but it was set up really well.
Like I say customizing is like wiping your a$$.......

GTO all the way!!! my buddy has a 04' GTO... and i must say it is FAST!!!! plus the GTO;s are obsilete *sorry bout spelling* i have heard that the 04's might end up being worth more than the 05' even though the 05' gots the bigger engine.... they were sayin this cuz its the 1st year they brought them back, and less made of them.... they also said the purple 1's would be worth the most, but black looks better.. IMO
