I have been waiting for those things to come over here for years! I love 'em.

If they really are coming to the states (and are affordable) I'm buying one in a heartbeat.

Called up some of the dealers that offer them and it looks like I will have to wait for them to actually produce the thing for America.

The dealers are asking $25-30 grand for them! Hopefully when (if at all) they produce them for America, they will be a lot cheaper.

 

Those things are a little small for me.

That is insane. When we were living in europe we looked at them and they were selling for around 9,999 euro (about 12,000 dollars at the time). Thats insane market for our market.

Are the going to produce all of them. The Smart for 4, Smart for 2 and the Coupe

 

The Smart Fortwo has been imported by ZAP! and legally sold in California for almost 2 years now. Let me know when the Forfour, Roadster and Brabus trims come over or when official Smart dealers are opened.

I was expecting them to be about $15k at the most... Certainly not 30!

 

I drove the Smart FourFour version when I was stationed in Germany. Those little things are pretty fun to drive! But the sport coupe is a hell of a lot faster and has advanced features (the one I drove for 2 days had automatic rain sensors for the wipers and actually announced through the speaker system of road hazards). Kind of weird to be listening to System of a Down and then hearing through the speakers: "Warning, black ice ahead".
