so i've got a question...
all of these super sweet concept vehicles that don't make it into production, where do their show cars go to? i would love to purchase some of these, at a good discount, and be the only one in the world to have the car! i mean just think about it. they have to go somewhere, and i doubt they just Junk them. any ideas?
I don't really know what happens to them but I do know that they cost hundreds of thousands of $$ if not topping a million $$. Even with a good discount they aren't anywhere near cheap.
I have read about some of the old time concepts, the Buick Y-Job and such from the 50s that were driven by the designers as personal cars. Harley Earle drove that particular Buick
And here he is in a 1950 LeSabre concept:

The cars usually cost in the millions of $ just to produce, and a lot of the time they are only made to drive short distances, not likely to be used for day to day driving. Toyota and other companys usually have a show room that they store old concepts ect in.
Cool idea, but probably not practical.
Besides being expensive, these concept cars may not meet legal safety requirements. I don't know if the manufacturers would be willing to risk the potential lawsuits if someone was hurt.
Still, I hope the concept cars are able to live out a full life on a closed course somewhere...
