So... page 12 happened. (NEW PICS)
The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart starts at 27. You might want to take a look at that. It has the same exact engine and layout as the Evo, just a bit more conservative on the tune. There is a little article on this vehicle in the August issue of Modified Mag. However, they might be discontinuing the Ralliart and the Ralliart only comes in one transmission. Personally, I think you would enjoy a Subaru more. If your budget becomes a little more flexible. Aim for the Evo or STI.
Honestly, for a new car the WRX seems to suit you best. Best bang for the buck, very performance oriented, drivable in un-favorable conditions. Seems to be the best choice so far.
used 335i for that price range but it would be a horror story lol failing fuel pump,turbo going out,Direct injection fail build up on valves bad and since its direct no fuel washes on the top of them so your screwed lol my buddy hates his just a warning
Mostly sticking to new.
After buying this car new, I feel a lot more comfortable knowing the entire history of the car I'm buying. That is, when it has zero history at all.
Not to say I'd totally rule out a good used find... but that's a LOT more work for me to make sure I'm getting a good car and a good deal.

335's have fuel pump problems because of direct injection
the mk5 gti had the same problem but worse.
mk6 gti has a different motor and problem was fixed plus it has an lsd
trust me, if its a handful of cars, mk6 gti won't let you down, 6 speed manual with stage 2 plus (front mount intercooler, turboback exhaust, intake and tune)
car will haul ___ and you'll put down over 300whp.

Four-door
* WRX Base: $25,495
* WRX Premium: $27,995
* WRX Limited: $28,995
Five-door
* WRX Base: $25,495
* WRX Premium: $27,995
* WRX Limited: $28,995
I'd likely be looking to get the 5door, premium.

Starting to price insurance....
Based on my current policy, here's the difference for each:
2010 GTI: DOWN $90/yr
2010 Gen Coupe: UP $146/yr (WTF?)
2010 WRX: DOWN $16/yr
So.... that's interesting.

Sooo... Test drove that WRX today.
We get about a mile down the road and my gf says "Ya, I don't know if you should be buying this car" as I floor it again and the boost drops her back in her seat.
So it's pretty easy to say that this is the most powerful car I've driven (sad, right?). I'm not used to the slight turbo lag and then *boom* power. The one I drove had the SPT exhaust on it too, so it was even fun to listen to.
Problem is that I dint know if I made my decision easier or harder...

So regardless of which I end up choosing... when is a good time to try to get pre approval for a loan?
For example, would this week be too soon to try to get preapproved if I were to put a deposit down on an order next week or the week after? And even then it would have to be ordered and I probably wouldn't have the car for at least another month? Is that too soon?
When I got my tC, I basically went to the dealer and said "i'll take it" and had done no real leg work beforehand. I want to make this as easy as possible... including the financing. I'm planning on talking to my credit union first (or at least trying them for preapproval first) and then also see what the dealer's credit union can do.
So is it worth it to start doing that part now even though I might have to wait a while before I even see the car?
