if the choise is an is350 or a 328i theres no competition...the 350 will auto or otherwise blow the doors of a 328i....however if your talking 335 vs is350 then well the 335 has already been shown on a dyno in one of the magazines to most likely be slightly underrated(12% correction pegged hp at 325 at the crank i believe)...and to the guy who called the 3 series the poor mans bmw doesnt that, following your logic, make the is the poor mans lexus??? i fail to see the argument there

i see where you're going with the "poor man's lexus", however I think the point of the argument is slightly different.

yes, many people buy a lexus for status, just as they do with bimmers, yet I think a bmw is a more iconic status symbol, and *suspect* that many people buy them JUST for cred.

For example, thinking in terms of watches, a Rolex is instantly recognizable as a status symbol, yet brands such as heuer and omega are arguably better timepieces.

I'd rather have a 3 series than a 5 series personally, smaller...and pretty sure faster too.. (the 335i, that is)

I would say Lexus, my paps best friend despises/ loathes BMW. He is a VERY wealthy doctor and doesn't mind paying for the goods if they are worth it. well long story kinda short... He took His BMW to the dealer to get a new part put on that went bad, no big deal. He paid a couple hundred bucks for the "new" part and then took the car home. Upon getting home he looked over the work that was done and had noticed the "new" part was all scraped up and had old road tar on it. They put an old used part on and charged him for new. He called the dealership to explain his issue and they wanted nothing to do with it. They even forwarded him to the District manager who abruptly said. “If you don’t like what you got, go buy another car or deal with it.” And that’s a quote!! So what did he do. He immediately took the car back to the dealer left it there and walked across the street to the Lexus dealer, yes it was right across the street, and drove away a brand new Lexus that he paid cash for!! Slap in the face to BMW

That doesn’t say anything about the performance of the either vehicle, but it’s something to think about the way the dealership doesn’t care about you after you make the purchase of a BMW. Plus IMO Japanese cars engineering is the best around right now for quality, not necessarily performance, but definitely quality.

Ok mother goose is done blabbering!

i have the same problem now with honda of all people they dont want to warrnty my turbo jetski , my alternator went bad and they said they found salt diposits in my engine . NO ____ i ride in the ocean .

THE is350 wins in my book ive ben watching videos of it running at the track taking stis and evos wih average drivers . and times of 13.2 stock not bad not bad

As of last year and maybe still, it was Lexus' fastest car (for sure), and i even think it's faster than all of toyota's current lineup.

I would definitely pick the 335 over the 350, but not the 328. IMO, it's 335 or bust.

i dont disagree with the assesment that bmw is the more iconic marque...and personally im voting for the is350...but besides the people who buy a BMW for the sole reason of buying a BMW i can see your point but i feel like today lexus is very similar in peoples attitudes for them, im sure there are plenty of people who own a lexus just for the sake of buying a lexus...

as for the gentleman claiming the 335 is running slower at the track...im checkin my facts at edmunds and there testing pegs the is35o at a 5.5 0-60 and 14.2 1/4...the 335 they test in automatic was a 4.8 0-60 and 13.3 1/4...

anyway to get back on topic i still vote to go for the is350...

IS350 all the way. I ended up buying a GS 350, and the engine is phenomenal. Also, the Lexus interior and ML stereo are superior to anything BMW can offer. Add in quality, resale value and 4 doors... easy choice .

If I can give my honest opinion without sounding like a jerk...BMW and Lexus are stuck up _______s.

I only deal with people all day and see their rides, luxury car owners tend to be dicks.
