Default Would you trade...

Would you trade your 2005 IIP tC with 31,200 miles for an unmolested 2001 Lexus IS300 with 60,xxx miles?

Pros:
-4 Doors
-Small Sporty look
-bigger engine

Cons:
-Higher gas
-older car
-more expensive parts(most probably)

I'm honestly thinking about doing it!

Any comments, opinions welcomed!

ehh..i wouldn't do it..unless you really feel you have the money. Your tC is not most likely not gonna have problems for awhile and those problems will probably be a lot cheaper to fix..i say no go...but its your money

wow, you really missed the mark with your pros and cons...

pros: REAR WHEEL DRIVE!!! possible to do a 2jz-gte engine swap, can drift, very classy.

cons: has higher mileage, same acceleration times stock vs stock as the tc,

gas mileage shouldn't be that different, the car has a 3 liter inline 6, it isn't much bigger then the tc's 2.4 liter 4 cyl engine. as far as parts being more expensive, what parts are you thinking of? air filters? oil filter? spark plugs? brake pads and rotors? it may be a lexus, but it is still made by toyota, not only that, but it is the cheapest lexus in the line up, and i gaurentee you that lots of the parts that have to be replaced are the same parts that are in other toyotas, like power window motor, power steering etc.

now, if you've owned your car since new, you know exactly what it has been through, but this other car, that you claim is unmolested, how do you know that? because the owner who wants to sell you the car tells you? or the car salesman tells you? you don't know, there really isn't any way for you to know that.

what you need to really consider is if this car i worth it. do the advantages that it offers you make it worth the trade, do you need 4 doors? do you need rear wheel drive? do you need a car with a bigger engine that is just as fast as your tc?

The thing is i'm tired of the two doors. Thats why i'm interested in the first place. As for an engine swap or going f/i not sure it would happen in the near future. Maybe just a drop, exhaust and wheels would be the only mods it would get for now.

I've always like the is300 bodylines and found this completely stock 02 m/t for the same price i can sell my tC.

Rwd would be a plus too andas far as being unmolested of course i would have it checked by a mechanic first but the pic posted in the ad looks its from some guy who just took it out only on the weekends and the only mod it looks it has are the OEM fogs.
