Wish they would play these in the United States.

Thoughts?

looks more like an ad for stricter leash laws for peoples dogs. the damn dog caused the accident.

why the hell didn't the red car slow down or stop at all? they were clearly in a freakin day dream driving too damn slow or talking on a cell phone since they didn't brake at all for the dog that ran right across the front of their car.

anyway, this isn't about street racing, they weren't racing, the guy was passing a slower moving car.

moral of the story, if animals cross the road, just hit the damn thing and save a couple of human lives.

This has nothing to do with animals. The message of the spot is to emphasize more responsible driving.

Street racing scenarios are dangerous, and do not allow for any margin of error (ie: your precious doggy running into the street).

It only takes an instant to cause worlds of irreversible damage.

I agree. I dont think this commercial was aimed towards street racing. But that commercial was crazy as hell.

holy sh.t

that commercial was VERY well done. Reminds me of the "Every 15 Minutes" program we did at our HS about drunk driving. With the help of the SDPD, SDFD, a local hospital, and a local morgue we had a mock accident scene with some of the students involved. all of it was video taped- from the scene to the hospital, to the jail, and to the morgue. there was even a mock funeral the following day for the "dead". one of the most emotional experiences for me. even though i was involved in planning and executing and knew it was all fake, it still hit me hard to see a friend in a casket at the morgue..

More schools should do things like that.

True, the commercial isn't about street racing but it's pretty obvious you've never had somebody close to you die because of street racing. If you did, you rationale wouldn't be thinking of stricter leash laws.

actually, i'm really good friends with my neighbors down the street who were always very nice to me growing up. very nice older couple. always waved to me riding by on my bike, and when i got my tc, the husband gave me a very pleasent talk on the importance of safe driving and for me to be careful and such. i mentioned it to my mom in passing and she told me it was because their son had died in a car accident when he was around the age i am now driving something like an old nissan 240 z. i bear a strong resemblence to him. anyway, his accident wasn't related to his speed, he it involved a drunk driver.

then, last december, my gf totalled her xa making a left turn at an unlighted intersection. she was facing the sunrise, and there was a big van making a left turn in the oncoming lane that she couldn't see past, so best she could tell, she was clear to make her left turn, but then a jeep wrangler going about 50 mph passed the left turning van in a right turn only lane and creamed my gf. her car was totalled, she had a stun concussion, her back got really messed up, but she is recovering nicely and is much better today and has a new xa to replace her old one.

as for me, i have never been in, or caused an accident with my speeding. i've been hit by an idiot in a van who tried to pass me in a no passing zone and side swiped me, and then another idiot who hit me while i was making a left turn on a green light because the moron came straight through the intersection from a left turn only lane.

i take my speed and handling very seriously and calculate the risks and don't just drive fast everywhere, i drive to what the conditions allow me to do and nothing more.

Decidedly dumb. Didnt make me wanna street race less. That sort of accident is extremely common. Somebody not paying attention and an accident occurs. It happens....

Why would you want to street race to begin with? "Decidedly dumb"? oh the irony.

Yup, Im an idiot. I can deal with that label. I wont race another car on the street because I cant predict what theyre gonna do but I will certainly puch my car to its limit on a backroad when Im driving alone. I just love driving. I wont do it with another person in the car (my xB only has two seats) because I wont jeopardize another persons well-being. Im probably just immature and irresponsible but I can handle that....

"..I won't jeopardize another persons well-being"

-news flash-

Your excessive speed on public roads jeopardize all those on them, or could be on them at any time.

What if somebody lives on that back-road, they're not entitled to a safe environment because that road becomes your playpen? Immature and irresponsible are not words I think of when I try to make sense of your statement. Idiocy however, is.

Oh my goodness, that is disturbing. You should put a warning in the title of this thread. That was just horrible. I feel horrible right now. Wow. And yea, don't street race and speed in zones where its not safe to. For that matter, don't speed at all.
