Default B18 '95 hatch: Kill story

So i've got my header/exhaust on and I've been waiting for a challenge. Last week I went into my boy's shop and met a kid (19) who was about to buy a '95 civic hatchback with a b18 swap, AEM V2 intake, exhaust, and thats about it.

Tonite I had just gotten back from the Peruzzi Scion Car show and I was drivin around town with my shoes off to just mess around and get a better feel for the car with the new mods. I saw the guy with the civic drive past me on the main road in my neighborhood. I called him up, asked if he wanted to run real quick, and told him to wait for me at the getty station (where i used to work) so I could put my shoes on and we could drive to the spot together. We decided to race up a monster hill in my town (lawrence road, 4 lanes, and actually crosses overtop I-476 rite at the point we raced) from a 25 mph roll after the 3rd horn blast.

We came up to the red lite to turn left to go up the hill, I was behind him cuz there was someone else in the rite lane (2 turning lanes). At green we both jumped out and I crossed over to the right lane. We both settled in around 25, I downshifted to 2nd...one...two...third blast we both got on it nose to nose! It was crazysweet. We started up the hill pretty even, but I shifted into 3rd and started to PULL on him pretty good up the hill..he eventually had to get out of it cuz there was a car in his lane.

At the top of the hill there is a red lite, then a church. I looked over at him and was just like, dude that was a sick race! but he couldn't hear me cuz his window was up (must be manual). I think he thought i said 'lets go again'...and we were kinda both lookin like we wanted to go. So at Green, with a bunch of cars now behind us, we Both revved up and launched like crazy....Again, even thru 2nd, then in 3rd I started to pull again! We came up to the church and I had to let off it, he blew by me (def a bad idea, but way fun)

We found a side street and stopped for a hot minute to talk, then peaced out.

Btw, besides the tc's stock weight, I have at least 100 lbs worth of audio equip. in the trunk! that civic is lite as anything, altho my boy is kinda hefty!

It was a GREAT RACE, either way though. I would have died to have someone in my car taking video. I guess there is no replacement for that 2.4L displacement!!!!

you must be drunk or something when you wrote this. Sound like a little 13 year old wrote it. "crazysweet", "peaced out" , " hot minute"

NO not drunk. Does it make u feel "cool" to flame on people. Cuz your not. I'm 25 have a college degree and frankly i don't care if someone who calls theirself 'tcmonkee' doesn't like my slang. Are you from oklahoma? or some other midwestern or southern state? that would explain a lot!

ACTUALLY, I can't believe you read my whole post and thats the only moronic waste of time comment you could make.

Next time before I author a post, I'll pm YOU and ask you what words I should use in MY post so You won't think I'm drunk... ROFL! Loser....

Im from Southern California, i dont believe i have heard "crazysweet" or "hot minute" in my life time here. Nor have i heard anyone use "then peaced out". I rarely flame anybody on here nor do did i intend to. I was just pointing it out. Now i know why my teachers tell me not to use slangs in my writing and I thought my writing skills was bad...........Anyway peace "Mr. Cool guy and his slangs"

Well... first and foremost... I hate street racing. But whatever... can't control the world.

Second... what B18 engine was it? From your story it says that you beat him, but if it is the b18a, then you probably would. If it is a b18c, you should have lost. That size engine in that light of a car (manual windows), you should have had a hard time with him. I'm guessing that either the swap was bad or it was an earlier Integra engine.

Not to knock tC's, but they are heavier than a hatchback.

in any case... I guess congrats. Just try to avoid the traffic stuff. Someone with a college degree should be aware of the inherent risk.

I'll assume its a b18c...I didn't say I had an EAsy time with him...we were dead even, nose-nose until really hitting the incline...I think my torque was the deciding factor.

I KNOW his power/weight ratio SHOULD be way better (although he's a pretty heavy guy!) thats why i was so surprised...maybe he's got some engine problems he doesn't know about.

yeah, i think my street racing days are over...i'll just stick to the street fighting...lol!
