v6 mustangs are as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop
joking aside, stock for stock should be a very close race
i would personally side with the tC on this one
in addition with your mods, and the stang is stock
you should walk him with equal skilled drivers

though i never ran a stick v6 stang, the auto lost by 2 cars from 0-100 when it was a stock vs stock race.

V-6 'Stangs are poo...but it seems those that own them like to race....a lot. The tC should win if you're a decent driver.

Several of reasons

-poor volumetric efficiency
-weight
-gearing (especially autos)
-poor suspension setup
-umm...it's a Ford?

A V-6 doesn't neccesarilly make for a fast car. Also, the basic architecture of the previous Mustang has been around for a long time, it's simply outdated.

Stock vs. Stock, it should be a pretty good race. My essentially stock 2000 5-speed V6 Mustang went 15.5@90 w/ a crappy 2.331 60'.

I had a V6 Mustang before purchasing my current car, and I would put my money on the tC any day.

Just wondering... What year was your car, and what transmission did it have?

The 2003 V6 mustang is weak for a V6. My friend has one and it's not that powerful. I drove it. The tC should win. Hey hiram I sent you an AIM last night about the unichip. Hit me up later.

It's certainly true that the V6 in the Mustang doesn't make the kind of power that your typical import V6, but they also weren't priced similarly. You could have easily bought a 5-speed V6 Mustang from 99-04 for $13k-$14k, brand new, if you knew where to look. That puts it significantly under what you would have paid for any ~250hp V6-powered import. Of course, there's more to it than just the engine, but I think you get what I'm saying. Basically, you get what you pay for, and you can't expect there to be a VQ35 in a $13k V6 Mustang.

Anyway, both the 99-04 V6 Mustang and the tC run somewhere around the mid-15's with decent driving and a 5-speed manual transmission, so it's really going to come down to what transmission each of the cars have and who's driving each of the cars.

Either way, I'd love to run a tC in my V6 just to see how it played out. I'm sure it'd be a good run.
