Default Chicago SCCA Autocross rumors...

There have been a fair abount of Street Rods at the events this year & weve been talking about a class for them. Due to their mods, they are in pretty serious classes & get spanked by the modern cars. If you've never seen a '32 Ford with a beam front axle ripping it up, I strongly recommend it. You'd be amazed at how fast he goes in that car!

Anyway, the powers that be poo-pooed the idea of a Street Rod class. They did suggest a Car Club class, where if enough people in like cars showed up, they could be grouped together & compete against other club members.

This would be advantageous to the local turbo tC guys on street tires in Street Mod FWD, or xB's on airbags in Street Touring who might get spanked . There could be a Scion class if enough Scions showed up!

I keep pushing to embrace the slightly-modified cars as the future of autocross. Stay tuned...
