Missed this thread. But dang that looks fun! I really want to try this. I love autocross, but this looks like a blast as well.

 

If you find it in your area, definitely take a look. You'll probably want to seriously evaluate the course before deciding to run though.

Ya. This particular event (that started this thread) was not bad at all - but the second one I ran was pretty rough and tore up the plastics from my undercarriage. I probably shouldn't have ran the second one (but it was fun).

How does it feel doing rally on a FWD.... I was always curious about that, because doesn't the front end start to slide a lot? How would you control the thing when the front starts to slide in a turn?

 

Well I don't have anything to compare it to as far as rallying goes - so I'm not sure the best way to explain it. You're certainly not going to get the same experience that you would in awd or rwd - but that doesn't mean it is less fun.

As for sliding specifically, it will really depend on the course. There is definitely a lot more understeer in rallyx than regular driving. You can't really throw it into a corner as easily as you might otherwise - nor can you really power out of the corner. You really have to ease it in and out to a degree... if you have sharp turns. The long sweepers though - those are the best.
