Default Got a hold of some drag radials

My friend has some drag radials that he's going to let me use tonight.. They're on 15" rims, they aren't much wider then the stock 17s but they're very light rims.

I usually run 2.3x 60' times, sometimes 2.2x's.. Does anyone have any idea how much this will bring down my time?

Other then the mods in my signature, I also have a Stiffy and it will be on the 10mm (stiff) setting.

Can't wait to get down to the track.. <does anti-rain dance>

It also depends on what kind of DR's they are. What brand tire?

You should be able to pull some 1.9-2.0s. I plan on getting a set of the BFG's in about another month or so.

Let us know how it turns out.

Yah my buddy had them on his civic and they were pretty sticky tires. Pending it doesnt rain you should get some good results out of the tires.

Azenis are not drag radials.

They are, however, probably much better tires than you've got on the car now. The smaller rims will help too.

Drag radials have zero tread whatsoever, and usually a treadwear rating of 60 or below.

Aren't the nitto 555's classified as "drag raidials"? And those have more tread then these falkens do.

(shrug) that's just always what I thought they were called, I could be wrong.

The track rained out so I wasn't able to try them out but I but them on anyways and drove around town for a little.. They hooked up really nice.

Not true. BFG's DR's have tread in them. They are DOT legal for street use as well, but they are DR's and they have tread. SLICKS on the other hand, don't have tread at all.

Nitto 555's are not drag radials, just FYI.

I did look at them yesterday and I see that the treadwear was 200, so you guys are right.. I can't see a drag radial having that good of a treadwear rating.

Hey Rhythm how long have you been running those tires? Any idea what the typical wear life is for those when using them on the street?

I have had them since April during the Scion ShootOut. Ran on them pretty hard then. The right tire is practically treadless now (no LSD), and the other one looks good still. This is with driving on them from the house to the track, and running on them at the track every weekend to every other weekend. I would say they last a pretty good while.
