Default GTI vs tC on a roll

Do you think a tC on a roll? I was looking for some more specific specs on a stock tC but couldn't find much. I'm thinking no way a stock tC could take on a GTI on a roll...the GTI has a 2.0 liter engine but it's turbocharged.

I/H/E set up might keep it up...but to beat it you'd obviously have to go at LEAST a s/c...and turbo definitely.

a stage 1 or maybe even a stage 0 turbo, yeah, but an n/a with bolt-ons or a pure s/c would lose. but MAYBE a s/c with bolt ons, 0 psi pully and a piggy back tune...maybe...

Yeah, the stock GTI will eat a stock tC anyday. Civic Si will be a competition for the GTI.

Yup. I also think the easiest path would be to TC your tC.

Why, did you get beat up by one?

Nah, I haven't actually raced anyone in my tC yet.

My friend just got a 06 GTI yesterday. I got to drive it...it was a nice ride but I would never buy it. He got a pretty good deal...

17,500 for it...33,000 miles tho which is a lot. It wasn't salvaged...

It's a heavy car too...you can feel the European build. The tC has much more potential if you wanted to turbo it and do a bunch of upgrades. It's much cheaper too since it's a Japanese car compared to a European one.

I'm just thinking everything over on what I want to do.

BMW's recent announcement of the 135i is VERY VERY intriguing. If you haven't seen it check it out...I like it and it looks fantastic to me.

It has the same engine in the 335i so the power is there...

I had the last generation GLI with the 1.8T engine. All I can say is: hold on to your tC, it will be wayyyyy more reliable.

I had a 2002 SLK and 2002 Vw GLI. My sista has a 330i. Seriously, those german cars are just way too... German.

guess again ... he got a slightly better time than i did but it wasnt enough to catch up....BTW i drive a "pure" SC TC(absolutely no other mods).. so i would say its a drivers race depending on mods..
