ive heard we couldnt reprogram are chips at least in the xb but both cars have vvti just wondering if it is posiible or not? Ive been 130 with my parents 740il and it was like nothing for that car i felt like i was going 80 but ya i was young and stupid and probably wont ever do that again

 

fastest ive gone in my tC was between 125-130 also. i did it on the highway at 1:30 in the morning comin home from providence. not a singe car on the highway (which was odd might i add) so i let it rip.
(also i wanted to post to add to the amount of FM owners responding lol)

 

i used to have an srt-4 with a few mods with something like 260hp. and 290ft.lb. and i got it going about 153 on the highway racing a new bimmer 330i scaring as hell especially when your in traffic.

governor is by determined by the states.

And its generally 125-127.

I wouldn't recommend you really trying out your car unless you goto a track. If you live on the coast around D.C. I recommend MIR (Maryland International Raceway). They also have a Nos refill tank.

remember, the speedometer is not absolute... error increases with speed.
...it might read 130 gage, but you'll actually be doing a few MPH less.

you need to find a cop who's cool & will clock you for fun. i live in south louisiana so it's not a problem... this might be more difficult in other areas!

Im from south Louisiana too, one of my friends dad is a Baton Rouge sheriff. He clocked me in my moms G35, 153 mph. I want to get him to do my tC.

 

tC = limited at 127. The whole excited driving really fast the first time and not really staring at the speedo will make ya think it's higher...the first time I did it I coulda sworn I hit 135. I've done it a few times and can verify that the engine stops going the faster at 127

it's a fun bouncing effect at 127, I would agree that it looks close to 130, but since death and I are really good friends I was able to look close . sadly didn't hit it. but you can take out the limiter if you know enough. so I need to find someone who can take it out, I want to red line in 5th just before I burst into flames and destroy a small part of the countryside.

 

The speedo might say 130 but the car is limited to 127. Speedos always read high and the difference goes up as speed goes up.
