I was driving home just now and a bone stock tc was trying to race me on the freeway, I seriously didn't want to give in to his stupidity but he was instigating a race from me for a while. I finally gave in; at about 80 mph I downshifted from 5th to 4th and we were dead even, the most he got on me was half a car length. I seriously doubt he was racing at his full potential. I know I have a few mods but seriously dead even? I think he should have left me. I think he was either sandbagging me, doesn't know how to drive. But is there a chance that I actually beat him in a race? What do you guys think? Heres a list of my power mods;
-Tom's 7.8 lbs flysheel
-Spec Stage 2 clutch
-Apexi short ram
-DC header
-Apexi World Sport exhaust
-Custom 2 inch piping from cat to axelback
-Celica GT Injectors (the blue ones)

On A side note my xB is fully gutted out to weigh just under 2200LBS (2450 with my fat ___ in it) and I have 16x7 5Zigen FN01R-C's wrapped in 215 45/16 Azenis

That is your only window of opportunity to hang with one. from 50-70mph. So, if it was automatic, or the guy didn't downshift while you did, I can believe you hung with a stock tC at that speed. As according to C&D, the xB will go from 50-70 1sec faster than a tC will. And if both left in 5th gear and accelerated from 30-50, the xB will get to 50 3sec's faster. That's a lot of time when it comes to racing.

 

anything is possible, maybe he had an auto, full of ICE, and 3 passengers.

He had one passenger, and the car looked really new, it didnt even have plates on it yet. Unless this guy has money coming out of his @$$ I doubt it had a system in it already.
