never raced one, but some of them come with 170 hp v6 engines and 5 spd manuals, so it would be a fairly interesting race, ofcourse since they have a bigger engine that doesn't make alot more hp than our 4cyl, they might be too heavy.

and i thought i saw that the last model year or something even came with all-wheel drive...

well, looking at wikipedia, they had a 2.5 liter v6 engine that made 170 hp, and they had a curb weight of 2892 pounds. tc's are 2.4 liter, 160 hp, 2900 pounds, so it would be a close race. not sure how they are geared, but cougars with the sport package and a manual tranny could get up to 153 mph.

okay, here we go, the v6 manual does 0-60 in 7.7 seconds, which is close to the tc, good driver race.

I had a '99 heavily modded Cougar and sold it for a '06 tC. Performance feels similar, would be a good driver race. Oh and no awd was available.

i hate when people ask these questions. just race and find out..its like 1 and a thousand that someone raced a v6 5spd cougar..on this forum...my friend had a 1.8T with an intake and a turbo back so lets say 180whp..he raced an SRT-4 with an intake, catless DP and a 3inch all the way...the srt-4 should have smoked him but he won cuz the srt couldnt launch to save his life....he started to catch up but the race was over before he could. so you could win you could lose no one knows but you after you race...dont mean to flame but questions like that really cant be answered, all we can say is what draxcaliber said and just give you specs

+1

Now the real question is... who do you think would win. my xB or 76yr old woman?

Specs are close, might be a good drivers race...

yeah, sorry about that awd bit, that was a concept model i read about that never actually saw production, because come on, why would ford want to build a cougar with a manual, awd, and a 3 liter contour v6? because they know that car would be SUCCESSFUL and we can't have that now can we?
