NASA HPDE Required Head Restraint Questions

Does anyone know about this rule that NASA has applied to HPDE?
I have looked around as some of these systems, and they seem to only mount to certian race seats. Has anyone used one of these restraint systems in the past? Is there a company out there that produces one that can be safely attached to a car with stock seats and no roll cage?

Thanks for your help!

A seat with a "bolster" to keep the head from moving to the right side in an impact is acceptable. A side-impact head-net restraint system, such as the Racetech RTViperRP is also acceptable. Note- all side-impact head-net restraint systems must have a quick-release mechanism to aid the driver in case of a necessary egress via the passenger side.

To me that means people competing in the Time Trials need that equipment, not students with street cars. I'd be very surprised if HPDE1/2 or even 3 needed that. They would implement a HANS device for students before a right side head brace.
You definitely don't need that at all. HPDE's are designed for people to take their cars out and learn their limits, and realize how much they could improve on their driving. The only real equipment that is needed in HPDE is for convertibles, and that's a good rollbar. That's not something you need to worry about though.
The net restraints are for the time trial/race folks. There has been a lot of hooplah over this stuff on the nasa forums. Basically the thought is, 1 you aren't racing wheel to wheel so side impacts are less prevalent, and 2, in HPDE you shouldn't be so over the limit as to crash with so many G's as to need such a thing. Most drivers in HPDE cant use the nets anyway as they are in stock seats. This is not to say that bad accidents don't happen in these events, but they are extremely rare. If you use your brain, you're safer on the track than you are on the streets driving to the track. I'll stop babbling.
If you really want to get some straight answers go to nasaforums.com . They have an entire forum dedicated to HPDE and full of questions just like this.
Glad to see there is someone else on this forum who is interested in truly driving his car for more than 15 seconds at a time.

Thanks a lot for the info guys.
This relieves a lot stress I had about the whole thing. I have one been on the track once, for a Hyperdrive at Summit Point, WV. And I am looking to get into the world for HPDE untill I saw that on the registration site. And I didn't think that all these safety requirements applied to HPDE which is not supposed to be wheel-to-wheel racing.
I checked out the forums a while ago, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for (might not have looked hard enough.)
Thanks again for your help!
