Surprised a TSX!!!

This may seem like an improper conclusion, but if the person had purchased chrome rims, the likelihood is that he is less apt to go for power mods, and holds greater importance to the show aspect of modding. With that said, in accordance with SP's story and despite the Car and Driver numbers provided, it is feasible that an auto tC with mild bolt on power mods could indeed prevail upon a TSX with what may be primarily aesthetic based mods.

It's bang for your buck, that's for sure, but that's exactly it. It's cheap fun. It's not a luxurious sports car. When someone states Scion>Acura, that obviously means that it's better in some way, shape, or form. Don't get me wrong, I love my Scion, but IMHO, it's a toy compared to a real car like a TSX. I just feel like because Scion is the underdog, owners of them start to act like ricecakes and then get all big headed and think they can own everything on the road because their tC has so much power and all that BS. No offense to any of your owners out there. It's just how I feel about this topic. I'm not saying that the TSX owners aren't like that just because their car comes stock with all the gizmoes and gadgets anyone could ever need. At least they still own a Honda and are humble about it unlike lots of domestic heads.

In fact MY cousin own an RSX type-S and I love it, when he let me drive it I didn’t want to get out of the driver seat, and I know I wouldn't even stand a chance with him. Also I have 2 other friends that own RSX's, and an Uncle that owns a RL. In my opinion Acura is a great company, but some of the people that drive Acura’s make the company look bad. And I know it’s the same with SCION, or any other car company. So I didn’t mean to imply that SCION was better than ACURA!!! Because BOTH ARE GREAT COMPANIES!
One more thing the whole “in no way is Scion better than Acura” “a scion is a toy compared to a TSX”… That’s only your opinion! I believe many SCION out there are better than many Acura’s out there. But once again I don’t think that all in all Scion is better than Acura, or Acura is better than SCION!

This might be one of the biggest lies ever! Maybe its just because you haven't run into a Acura owner that think his car is an EXOTIC MASTERPIECE THAT NOT EVEN GOD COULD KEEP UP WITH! REMEMBER THIS... the day that an acura/honda owner tries to make her/himself feel important by trying to flex on your car don't say i didn't warn you.!!! But maybe its that i work in an area that all the high school kids, and some college kids own a Honda or an Acura. But i still stick to my opinion.

You're from the Bay Area. I'm from the OC. I see as much if not more Hondas than you do on a daily basis. I see a lot of JDM heads around and even ricers. Most of the time those kids don't even think about racing. They don't even rev. They just mind their own and don't bother to race. I think you've just got it twisted when it comes to Hondas. Scion owners are so big headed. I might own a Scion, but Scion is probably the biggest rice tuner around right now. All I see are rice heads around. Rarely, do I see a nice, simple Scion that's owned by someone that doesn't want to go fast with their little rice rocket. CuRiOuSfIsH is right. When it comes to percentages of people that own Hondas and being big headed to people that own Scions and are big headed, Scion takes the lead in being asshats. As for the part in people that want to race me, I don't think anyone would. I drive a Scion. It's slow. It's not meant to go fast. Even the tC might be "fast", but I still think it's a POS car. I honestly don't like tCs and you can quote me on that. That's my opinion though, so don't get defensive because I don't like tCs.

I respect your opinion and you might be right when you said that almost all SCIONS are not normal people that want to get from Point A to Point B. But in my defense when i said "Honda/Acura owners think that their the Sh**, and try to race people" i was only trying to point out the ones that i have encountered... Most of them being of the younger crowd!
I would agree with you, and curiousfish when both of you said that the percentage of Scion owner to the percentage of Acura/Honda owner that try to race others is not in the favor of SCION. (IMO) Because MOST Scions are owned by a younger crowd that tries to go crazy fast, and race, and do all the "COOL" things with a new car. But on the other hand with Acura/Honda i believe that most of the people are more middle-aged mature adults (and yes i know that there are lots of young drivers also) that know better than to go out street racing, and trying to start things like that.
Also i'm not going to be defensive of the fact that you don't like TC's it’s your opinion and i Respect it. But like i've said many times… “SCION IS A FAMILY AND I APPLAUDE YOU FOR OWNING ONE!!!”
Thank you for respecting my opinions. I greatly respect your's too. I don't want this place turning into a Honda-Tech. Scion is a family, and I'm glad I own one. I do respect the tC. One of my best friend's has one. It's decent and perky with it's power, but I still don't like it. Maybe I'm biased because I grew up with a love for Hondas and the JDM likes. I'll kind of agree with you on the fact that Scion owners are a majority of young people, but it seems like I see a lot more middle-ages people drive them too. As far as Hondas, when I think of them and someone racing, I obviously mean cars that have been fixed up and people that intend to drive them with that purpose in mind. I just feel like a lot of them don't have the tendencies to race unlike Scion owners. Like I said, I feel as if it's because the Scion is the underdog so a lot of people try to prove otherwise. That's just how I feel about this topic.
I agree with you once again... Many Honda/Acura owner have their rides all fixed up but the majority of them don't try to start races they just like to show off with out being dumb, but the point that I was trying to make earlier was that there are a few ricers that do start/provoke races and those are the one that most people remember, and I’m the one that’s on the other side usually, this may be the reason that I feel the way I do about this topic. BUT I have also seen that many Scion driver like you said feel like their the "underdog" and they have to try to race everything just to feel secure about their ride.
I’m glad to see that we could be civil about this discussion, because I have seen many SL members that immediately jump at each others throats as soon as one of them says they don’t agree with something. Thank You!

The thing w/ the TSX, that car is also aimed more towards the enthusiast crowd compared to lets say...... the Accord. So, young folks do tend to occupy the seats of the TSX. A TSX or RSX owner driving like an idiot wouldnt really surprise me but unfortunately, I usually expect a tC driver to a bit nutty on the road.

most scion drivers (especially the tc ones) do not realize that what they drive is a fwd econobox. it's not fast, it's pretty damn slow (not just in a straight line, handles like a camry, stock).
and while i like hondas/acuras (coming from owning one as my last car), the tsx, while a nice car, is horribly underpowered for what it is. It does handle good, and that's what makes it a good car, since straight line acceleration is not the only dimension to driving. most people don't realize this, however.
